if anything truly bugs me about these Norman Lear company produced shows is the use of that annoying fake applause, esp the one that starts with one or two handclaps and then quickly swells to thundering ovation! FOL was very guilty of this as well (in the early seasons).

I actually noticed this a while back while watching "The Facts Of Life".

Many shows were guilty of that. It was part of the standard of television. It is not used as much anymore...hardly ever in fact.

I did too. Most particularly at the end of season 5 and 6 episodes. It sounds the same on practically EVERY episode. :lol:

I have to agree with you Jude on this. I think we discussed this topic on some other show thread...oh yes, Good Times.

Anyways, it is annoying and it almost seems like they upped the volume on that audience applause at times just to make it sound "grander" than it really was.
