The post-strike return of NBC's "Saturday Night Live" scored the show's highest overnight rating in two years.

Hosted by former "SNL" cast member/head writer Tina Fey and featuring Carrie Underwood as the musical guest, the show delivered a 4.1 rating/15 share in metered-market households -- the highest average since a Feb. 4, 2006 episode hosted by Steve Martin. That's also up 36% from the show's pre-strike average this season.

During the show, Mike Huckabee spoofed his ongoing quest for the Republican primary nomination. Appearing on the "Weekend Update" segment, he was asked why he stayed in the race despite the "mathematical impossibility" of winning.

"I'm not a math guy, I'm more of a miracle guy," Huckabee said. "So at this point I'm gonna focus on the miracle part. But if that miracle doesn't happen, let me assure the American people that Mike Huckabee does not overstay his welcome. When it's time to go, I'll know. I'll exit out with class and grace.

The lingering question of who was going to portray Democratic presidential contender Sen. Barack Obama was answered when current cast member Fred Armisen stepped into the role.

Next week, Oscar nominee and Indie Spirit winner Ellen Page ("Juno") and musical guest Wilco take the "SNL" stage.

If you like SNL or want SNL for a younger generation, you might like the MTV show Human Giant that i work with. It's very similar sketch comedy and the 2nd season starts tonight at 11. Hope you like it! ~Lauren

I just started getting back into SNL a few weeks ago, and when Amy Adams hosted, the only part I missed was the end when she, the cast, and Vampire Weekend said their goodbyes to the audience. I've read a lot of posts on both IMDb and on the official SNL site complaining that she either wasn't in enough sketches, or her talent wasn't utilized enough, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone is saying that.

Altho I love Tina to death, I watched that weeks show because of Carrie Underwood. Since I missed when she on there when Peyton Manning. Tina was just icing on the cake.
I loved it when Mike Huckabee made an appearance.

:confused:because all the supposed snl fans ever do at those sites is whine and complain about how much snl sucks every week its the same thing this casst member sucks or that sketch sucks the daily show is better ect. ect. so take everything they say with a grain of salt
