I have been a viewer of the "Facts" message board for many years. It is one of my favorite shows and my dream has always been to meet the "Facts" girls. I recently had the amazing experience of meeting one of my idols, Lisa Whelchel so I thought I would share it with you all.:) I had the absolute best day of my life and maybe Lisa will read this because when I told her about this board, she asked me if I was going to post something and I said I was going to so here goes! First off, when I met her, I already knew that I was going to get to have dinner with her and about 24 other guests. After we chatted for a while, she told me to put my things down by her seat so the fact that I got to sit with her at dinner just made my day. In fact, it made my entire life. I got to spend an entire hour and a half with her at the dinner and we talked pretty much the entire time. I asked her if she knew when the season 4 DVD was coming out and she said she wasnt sure but she made a note in her phone to ask her manager tomorrow. How cool is that? I can't even put into words what an amazing time I had.

That is such an amazing story. I know a girl over at another site who was going to meet Lisa either today or tomorrow. I really want to meet her. I have so much repsect for her as a person.

I will never get over this. It is just an out-of-body experience. She was super nice and even more beautiful in person. I'm still on cloud 9!:)

that's awesome. I don't agree with Lisa on a lot of things, but I would like to meet her, she seems genuine and gracious to her fans and she'd be sweet

to be honest, I think Lisa would be hurt if you spent the whole time talking to her about Nancy, Kim and Mindy. Come on, it's Blair freaking Warner!!!! There's enough to talk about with her there

She was very very sweet and was happy to talk about the rest of the girls. I was sitting with her at dinner and she said that Kim is living in NY now, and I don't think she said much about Mindy. I think she's in California though, and Nancy is in Texas. She also said that Charlotte is doing very well.:)

That actually was my birthday present! and it was absolutely mind-blowing! I was in such a state of shock the entire time that it just didnt even feel real. It was amazing.

What a nice story and I'm glad you got to meet a star you really admire who was gracious and sweet to boot. I haven't met many stars, but the ones I've met have been super nice--and I'm so glad they were--because I've heard some horror stories.

I agree, I would hate to meet a celebrity I love and then find out they're a jerk, it'd be hard to ever truly enjoy their work again. I was so happy Roseanne was nice, since she has had a bit of a bad reputation, but she was very nice to me.

I got to meet Lisa a few years back when she was traveling over the U.S. with her family. In fact, several of us on here met her at that time and I think we all mentioned this site at one point or another. :)

I agree Lisa is a really nice lady and her memory is really REALLY good. I actually got to meet her twice in one week when I met her and she remembered me the second time which floored me. She was really cool and talked about her kids alot and I got to meet her youngest. Lisa had her take our picture together because I gave her a set of dominoes I had made and she put the picture up on her web site.

If you ever get the chance to meet her go for it because she is just so down to earth.

the last celeb I got to meet was Whoopi Goldberg. And she was very gracious, low key and down to earth. Not one iota of diva or "do you know who I am".

Why do you think that she gives off a creepy vibe? Lisa is such a sweetheart. Meeting her was the best thing that happened to me because I am soo obsessed with the FOL girls. she is so amazing.

I think a lot of the 'creepy' opinion of Lisa is from people who disagree with her religious/child-rearing/other beliefs.
Personally, I'm of the opinion, from what I've seen of her (no luck for a meeting yet) that she must be a very sweet woman.

lisas personna really shines through blair! i think thats whats really lovable about blair...not just any actress could make that character lovable...its really lisa shining through!!! even though blair is considered "snobbish" (i personally disagree) people still love that character!i :heart: blair!

I could'nt have said it better myself! Lisa really does shine through Blair and is an amazing all around person. I just love her so much and can't even explain what it felt like to meet her and be able to have so much 1 on 1 time with her. She is an amazing woman who has made a difference in so many people's lives. I get chills just thinking about that weekend. I can't even think of words to describe how remarkable she is and how excited and hopeful I am that I will meet Nancy one day. Meeting Lisa gave me hope that I really will get to meet Nancy and thats just a whole other story that puts me at a loss for words.

As someone mentioned earlier... it's her child rearing practices and religious-fanatic tendencies. I'm weary of anyone who's too religious or who thinks it's fine to purposely place a hot sauce on the tip of a child's tongue.

Plus her attitude when being interviewed is straight out odd. The Today Show interview comes to mind.

just because you dont agree with her beliefs or how she raises her kids doesnt mean shes creepy! some dont think you should spank a child and thats all other people do! are they creepy? NO!

Yea. Nancy is my absolute favorite actress(not that Lisa isn't right up there with her) and I just know that I will meet her someday but until then, meeting Lisa was absolutely amazing and just knowing that Lisa and Nancy have been a huge part of eachother's lives was cool to me. Just being in her presence made me at a loss for words and then the cooler thing was when we were at dinner and she said that she had talked to Nancy on the phone earlier that day.THE SAME DAY I MET HER SHE HAD BEEN TALKING WITH NANCY MCKEON!!!!:eek: That just made my entire day.:DThe entire night I was so giddy and excited. I ended up waiting until practically everyone was gone so I could just be around her and I got a picture of her leaving. (as soon as I figure out how, i'll post pictures). Another cool thing was that her and her husbands SUV was parked like right beside mine so I got to see them leave and then I actually ended up right beside them in the other lane when she was going to her hotel.lol

I know! just knowing that it will be here is so exciting. even though we dont know when, it still makes it better knowing from a direct source that our "Facts" will be here sometime hopefully in the near future. I say we all either email or call Sony at least once a day and bug them to death or at least give them a hint that they need to get off their lazy butts and release it already!Honestly
