Laura has an interesting faucet in her kitchen. Does anyone know what kind of faucet this is? Who was the maker?

Now that is an interesting question! I haven't paid one bit of attention to the faucet in Laura's kitchen. Now I guess I have to go look!

no; I never noticed it either! I'll have to watch my DVDs again and see if I notice it.

Here are some close-ups of the faucet. I got as close as I could, but I'm not sure if you can tell anything from them. It looks like there's a brand name on there, but I can't read it.

That faucet was replaced with a more modern looking single handle faucet in later seasons, although it worked backwards from all the single handle faucets I've ever seen. Rob washes his hands in the kitchen sink in a season 3 episode, and he pulls the handle towards him to turn the water on.

You've really piqued my curiosity, KathyJB. For some odd reason, I'm dying to know more about that faucet!

the faucet handles look exacly like the ones on our bathtub.....unfortunately, that doesnt really help, since they were there before we moved in and the name isnt visible

What the heck is the "black belt" wrapped around it in the cap on the right?

It's not the spray hose - that's visible in the cap on the left. Odd!

It IS an odd one isn't it? I know they were supposed to have a compactor because of the Heirloom Brooch ep.

I wonder if you could google old faucets of that era that would have had compactors (since they must have been fairly new back then).

Any antique dealers in the bunch here?

When you think of it, it was a very modern kitchen for the time - double wall oven? That was something! And funny how the refridgerators with the freezer on the bottom has come back in style (I prefer them and just bought one myself).

*** runs back to SO **** - well just googled and found a maker of faucets called "VanDyke"! LOL - but that's as close as I could get.

This is an interesting conversation...now I'm so curious about the faucet. Our kitchen looks A LOT like Laura's, only the refrigerator is on the other side. Other than that we have everything placed a lot like hers....but I now need to know about the faucet!!!

I found this link for the Electro-Sink from 1963. It provides a lot of info about this contraption

LOL!
This IS quite the interesting topic, and it was your first post, too?

To me the faucet looks like something that might have been in style at the time...but yet it also looks like something the prop department might have whipped up!

I will be amazed if we get to the bottom of this!
