The beginning at the school?
The middle in that bakery/store?
The end in the department store?

Well, this is a pretty difficult question to answer because with the exception of season nine, I love all the seasons. If I had to pick a favorite though I think that it would be a tie between season three and season eight.

My favorite season would have to be Season 5, because it shows the girls out in the world more and away from the boarding school cafeteria. It was a nice change of pace, plus the house set was beautiful to me.

I think season 5 would probably be my absolute favorite. The weakest seasons to me would be 1, 6 & 9. 3 is my least watched season because there's too many VSE's but I do think it was better written than the three I mentioned.

since I've caught up on seasons 4-9 for the first time in a long time, I think my ranking is something along this line, as you can tell I am partial to the 1983-1987 episodes
5-8-2-7-6-4-3-9-1

I pretty much loved all 9 seasons, along with the three TV movies. I think this is one of the few shows that has truly evolved with the changing times.

Season 3 is one of my least faves. It is easier to say what I didn't like than to list what seasons I liked.

I was glad when they got away from the original style of the show with all those girls. I also liked how the character of Blair was tamed down.

I agree Monika. Those were great. When they changed the format (the fire at Edna's Edibles) it began to lose its zest.

Plus the girls were getting older, and the show was running out of plots. FOL probably ran a season or two too long.

That it did. I never wanted FOL to ever end, but looking back, it was just hanging on by a thread and it began to sour.

Jo I have PM'd you and asked you nicely. I know the moderator has also spoken with you and others have had patience with you and were nice to you when they tried to show you how to play the games. There is no reason to be rude. You made three threads already apologizing for this and still you do it. I don't know what to tell you anymore. I tried. I know others have tried.

Lay off jo's sister. You all know the deal here. If I see anyone give her a hard time, even if you didn't start it, expect a suspension. Keep the lectures off the boards, and take them to me personally. I suggest using the Ignore feature. I have a zero tolerance for this sort of thing. Patience and understanding goes a long way. There was no need of what happened here.

I liked seasons 5-6 because that's when I really began to like and get into the show. I liked the Eastland years but when they went to Edna's Edibles the show just seemed better and funnier to me IMO. Plus, I was in love with the set they used; both their house and the store looked extremely cozy and homey :) .

Edna's Edibles was so awesome! It is my favorite seasons, you know the writers must have really kicked in gear to try to figure out after Season 4, if they should stay in Eastland and bring in new girls for Natalie and Tootie but thank goodness Jo was the popular one. :D

I think everyone remembers Eastland, parodies are done with them in Eastland, but Seasons 5 and 6 with Edna's Edibles and having a home in the back is way cool. I wish it lasted longer.

Agreed on all counts! Loved the cosy bakery feel of Edna's Edibles. Seasons 5 and 6 were the best for me, with 3 and 4 next.

I like season 1 the best, then 2, 3 & 4-tie, then 5 then 6-9-tie. I really don't like seasons 6-9 much-just certain episodes here and there.

ok here is my answer:
SEASON 5 was definitely my top 1! (the girls finally get to move in with MRS. G like a real home + in a way she adopts them). Also the fact that it s the only season that has very entertaining episodes with "gamma gamma" + "the chain letter" being my favourite!
SEASON 3 & 4 are my next favourite! (MRS. G totally devotes herself in the 4 girl s life). The 5 of them become extremely close: MRS. G has her special relationship with each of them & because the girls are still growing they get in lots of mischief "the 4 musketeers" + "the best sister part 1 & 2" are my fav!
SEASON 6 comes next! (although i don t like all the episodes). The girls get finally into the real world "cruising" + "Gone with the wind", they have their 1st serious relationship, although my 2 favourite episodes are "working it out" + "the interview show".....
SEASON 1 next! (i know JO s not in it). I love the "troublemaker" character of BLAIR, smoking cigarettes, flirting with boys, insulting CINDY & MRS. G trying to tame her down lol!
SEASON 2 now! (all the useless actresses were dropped). A new set of everything: MRS. G transform from "overweight housemother" to "slim dietician", JO comes in the picture, get the other 3 girls in trouble, they then get to move in with MRS. G , who then becomes their "angel guardians"......
SEASONS 7, 8 & 9 last! (departure of MRS.G who gets a joke as replacement). BEVERLY ANN doesn t have the strengh of authority MRS. G had with the girls, nor the maternal instincts & she totally doesn t bond with the girls at all!
Any replies on that one?
