Even though I have known Irene as a fellow poster for a few years, it is only the last couple of days that I have gotten to know her as a person. Irene has been helping me deal with a personal problem over the last few days and has been a big help. I've always considered Irene a very kind hearted and carring member of the boards, now I consider her a friend. Thanks, Irene. :)

I totally agree with you, Mike. I think Irene is awesome. Not only do I see her as a great person, having never met her, but I think she posts very intelligent posts. I always enjoy reading what she has to say.

I admire Irene for many reasons. She had a difficult first marriage and was a single mother for years until she met her honey. She didn't cry poverty. She got an education and a career. She doesn't have pity parties for herself. She's a doer, not a whiner. Irene and I have so much in common, that it's almost scary. United in grief over the loss of our parents and siblings. We both idolize our fathers. We're both chronic pain sufferers with spine problems.

The men in our lives are great, but both still works in progress, lol. We're both stepmothers, which is a joy, lol. We're both from the same disco era, so we lived the 70s, BABY! We're both over-the-top animal lovers, who miss our pets terribly. We're both drug dealers, out on parole The list goes on. Hey wait, back up. I'm KIDDING! We run our homes efficiently. Am I forgetting anything? Probably. Irene's a great listener. If I tell her that I have an important appointment for anything, be it medical, tenant problems, Irene actually asks me how it went. She's a very kind and compassioate person, and a wonderful friend to me.

Although I don't really know her well, just reading her posts I can tell she's a very intelligent and caring person.

I liked Irene from her very first post (which I think I answered or something - I know we were one of the first to 'talk' to each other).

Irene rocks -- she's a straight shooter which I like, doesn't mind voicing her opinion and respects others' even if they might be the opposite of hers. She'll agree to disagree and move on without holding grudges. She sees the sense of irony and humour in everyday things and is a survivor (like Janice and myself with chronic pain while running households).

As a matter of fact, I think Irene has influenced me where she didn't even know. When I had to contact a lawyer recently, the front line gal is of Latin decent (Torres is her last name, but ignorant me isn't sure whether that's Puerto Rican, Mexican, Cuban, etc. or what). She's a paralegal and is exactly how I picture Irene to be. She's talks straight and is a blast - we've since become personal friends and I think of her as my "live" version of my good "cyber" girlfriend!

OMG!!!!!! I have been sick for three days. I was in bed all day yesterday nursing this bad cold and cough. I finally had the strength to get out of bed and have a decent cup of broth in the kitchen. I decide to check in on my peeps and I see this wonderful thread.

You have made me cry.  Seriously, you all are great. What a great dose of medicine this is. I am honored and feel so loved. :bighug:

I can't even begin to tell you all how each and every one of you influences me in some way. How each of you have your own distinct personalities and yet, together you all rock! I am touched. Deeply touched. ;)

You all come together when the need requires it (bullies) and we each stand alone when we have our own distinct opinions on some topic. This board really is a family.

Thank you Mike for this thread. It was totally unexpected and I am rather bashful by it only because you needed someone to talk to, you came to me and I helped the best way I could. I can only do so much thru a PM but I try and give it my all. Thank you for feeling open and secure enough to come to me with your problem. I have always been a person to open her heart and mind to other people's problems and issues and to never judge my friends. I am here for each and every one of you if you ever feel the need. Again,

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

Words cannot express how much I love Irene. She has helped pull me through some of the hardest times in my life, along with other members here. I don't know what I would've done if I had not found Sitcoms Online. Thank you so much Irene for all you do for us. I hope to be able to pay you back someday if you're ever in a crisis! :bighug: ~Your Kelly Ketchup

PS- Irene we need to start a petition or something for that ketchup smilie!!!

Whoa, Irene, this is weird, but that picture you posted of Lucy & Ethel, well, one of the clocks hanging in my house has that same image!! I know it's a well-known image in the I Love Lucy circle but when I saw it, I was like, there's my clock!! I found it at this store that sells pop culture stuff - Elvis, Marilyn, James Dean cookies jars, salt & pepper shakers, clocks, etc.

Irene gave me the "butt" a long time ago, and I was a little upset over it, but just a few days ago, I thought of the "butt" and burst out laughing! I am laughing right now over it! I love ya, Irene!  :)
