I'm new here and this was a episode I recently saw again for the first time in a LONG While, it was one of my favorite ones of all time but one thing I thought about watching the episode was how in the hell did they film the pie f ight to come out so perfect. I wonder how many dry run throughs they did without the pies to get timing and placement just right and even then the goal of pie fight episodes is to obviously get as much pie coverage on the faces as you can and if you don't hit the person just right with the pie they may not get good pie coverage. They did a a amzing job on this one because everyone got plastered and just covered. Suzzane Sommers did a fantastic job pieing herself as well. Anyone else ever think about what went in to filming such a episode, but it came out fantastic.

Yeah that was a great episode. What a mess all those pies were. What a weird way to end the show. It was funny how no one stopped them from throwing their prized pies.

I agree, they did an amazing job on that scene. Every pie hit it's mark just about perfectly. The only flaw I remember is that you can see Chrissy smile a little bit after she pies herself. Must've been a fun scene.

I agree they did a really good job shooting the pie scene. I know they must had alot of practices and rehearsing , but how did they do it so good on film without any obvious mistakes? Throwing pies that good would be hard to do. :)

See it really is a interesting question and I agree when you look at how perfect each and every pie hit was, they couldn't have scripted it any better. Because you can rehearse the order everyone was getting pied, and the angles and marks where they needed to be to get pied but you have no idea if the pie hit is any good till you actually go through and do it and I suspect they nailed it on the first take because of how much would of went into having to reshoot it again. Suzzane did almost crack up laughing when she nailed herself and she left it on her face awhile before wiping her eyes out.

The Bake-Off was fun episode. You can tell that the actors themselves are having a blast. You just gotta love Mr. Roper's bright blue leisure suit, lol. Here's the video of the pie throwing scene. The pie action starts in at around the 4:00 mark. Enjoy! :)

Also, in my search for that video, I came across a site called, I kid you not, PiesIntheFace.com, lol. I found an old 2-page thread where these pie-in the-face-lovers, and experts, analyze and discuss the episode, The Bake Off.

There's also another YouTube clip of the pie-throwing scene, with silly music and post-production special effects:
