SSU may be her strongest and certainly most successful album, but I disagree that it's the alpha and omega in her career. It's just an album that towers over the rest of her work and is impossible to top, like Thriller does with Michael's other albums or Jagged Little Pill does over everything Alanis has done since. But she's been more or less consistant in the past twenty years, she just put out one album that she'd never be able to touch for the rest of her career. True Colors and Sisters Of Avalon are both certainly worth listening to on their own merits.

80sTrivia 02-14-2008, 09:14 PM I love all of her songs, but my personal favorites would be "I Drove All Night" and "Who Let in the Rain?"...

wow, I have heard some offbeat misheard lyrics when it comes to 1980's pop hits, but I think that tops them all in terms of sheer randomness
One of my friends told me when she was a little girl, she thought Pink Floyd were singing "no Dukes Of Hazzard in the classroom" in "Another Brick In The Wall", and another friend as a kid thought Pet Shop Boys were singing "let's mate lots of monkeys" in "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money)"

Janice 02-16-2008, 12:51 AM I think, Time After Time, is a beautiful song. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, makes me sad in a happy way, if that makes any sense. My late sister loved it and used to sing it to our little niece. If I hear it on the radio now, my heart sort of sinks, but it's such a lively song.
waichingliu81 02-16-2008, 05:37 PM time after time has to be number one on my list. i also like....
girls just wanna have fun- both 80s and 90s versions
i drove all night- i definitely prefer her version over roy orbison's
change of heart- god this track is so fantastic
shine- the babylon remix, i preferred the uptempo version of this track
true colors- pisses all over the phil collins version
who let in the rain- so beautiful and a wonderful melody it has too
