When TC became a big hit, did the producers look at the British models and say, let's do spinoffs too? I mean, was it the intention since the beginning of TC to do a US version of "George & Mildred" and "Robin's Nest"?

I've always wondered that myself. I agree, oce TC became a hit, it became easy for the producers to spin off the Ropers.

I still would like to know why the producers FORCED norman fell to do a spinoff?? Isn't that a sign that they just felt the Ropers wasn't really needed anymore on TC?

The producers of TC at the time were Nicholl Ross West correct? The same people who forced Isabel Sanford into doing The Jeffersons?

The producers of TC didn't like anyone to disagree with them.
