I have never seen an episode of "The Ropers" and "Three's A Crowd". I know that they both were not big hits and didn't last more than one season.

With all the seasons of Three's Company now out on DVD; I think they should bring "The Ropers" and "Three's A Crowd" to DVD to sort of complete the collection.

Do you think this is a good idea? Would you buy it should it come out?

I would love it if they released TAC and The Ropers on DVD, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon. :( It's been over a year since they released the last season of TC and there hasn't really been any talk about TAC or the Ropers coming to DVD. I'd definitely buy TAC if it were ever released. I'd even buy the Ropers DVD though I don't care for it very much. I'd get it just because it's connected to TC.

I would buy both. Believe it or not, both shows along with TC is "comfort TV" for me!

I agree they shoud release the dvds. They can always advertise it as "Three's Cpmany Presents" or something like that to tie it in. I'm sure TC dvd sales were pretty good. You do have to consider the costs it takes to create and promote the dvds. There's a lot that goes into making something like that.

Just a little fun fact for those of you who haven't seen the Ropers or Three's a Crowd

Larry from Three's Company made a guest appearance on The Ropers and he made a guest a appearance on Three's a Crowd and I have both episodes

Yes, they should, Three's a Crowd was the continuation of Three's Company just like Golden Palace was for the Golden Girls and Mayberry RFD for The Andy Griffith Show. I would think all these shows would eventually be released.

...if for no other reason than the completists want those series.

I'm not interested in seeing TAC in the least. Maybe The Ropers, though.

I'd love to see 'The Ropers' and 'Three's A Crowd' on DVD. I haven't seen 'Three's A Crowd' since it's original run on ABC.

Wow, you must have been pretty young to have first watched it on ABC!

If they ever do release these - and I think it's a longshot that they will - I hope they retain the original opening credit sequences. I know that a couple of Ropers episodes made it into syndication under the title of Three's Company's Friends, The Ropers, but if they're going put them on DVD, they should be the uncut episodes as they originally aired.

In the meantime, here's an original ABC promo for Three's Company and The Ropers, circa 1979.

Don't be so sure about it being a long shot. Shout! Factory Video is releasing more and more stuff I thought would never see the light of day! That Girl, Rhoda, Mr. Belvedere, Room 222, Califormia Dreams, The Electric Company, a variety of different shows, so theres hope!

i'd really like to see them on DVD, i own half of the Three's Company sets already but I would be more likely to get the Ropers or Three's a Crowd just because you can't watch them on TV.

Does anyone know how each of these shows ended?
What was on the last episode of The Ropers and Three's a Crowd?

Anchor Bay put out Three's Company. I wonder if they own the Rights to Three's a Crowd and The Ropers. The only other TV shows they've done are Roseanne, 3rd Rock From the Sun and The Greatest American Hero. Maybe we should solicite them.

It seems to me I vaguely remember with Three's a Crowd they had some sort of ending, but I could be wrong. I think they knew they weren't coming back for a second season, or a tenth season if you consider it a continuation of Three's Company! Didn't Vicky agree to marry Jack? The Ropers, I think just left us hanging, no closure.

I would love to see those come out on DVD, being only one season they probably wouldn't be too expensive either.

I was fortunate enough to catch, I (best I remember it was) 4 episodes of The Ropers on WGN back in the fall last year.

I recently received the complete series from a friend of mine. I can't believe it but I actually enjoyed watching the show. I didn't like Vicky when she guest starred on Three's Company, but Three's a Crowd was almost like "The Jack Tripper Show". After watching Three's Company hundreds of times, it was good to see some new Jack Tripper scenes. John Ritter's physical humor is what made the show funny.

Hello everyone I am new to this board but I am a long time reader and three's company fan. I recently got the complete series of Three's a Crowd and The Ropers from someone in Canada that had recorded it from a TV station there. The shows were not that bad but I would have to say that Three's a Crowd was a lot better than the Ropers. I think if they left the show on longer it would have caught on.

I looked it up on tvshowsondvd.com and the rights holders for both of these series is listed as unknown. So not only do we not have these shows on DVD but we don't know who to talk to to get them released.

Both shows are owned by DL Taffner. As for who would license the shows--Shout! or MPI would be game.

It doesn't even matter if they are released on DVD because all the eps of Three's a Crowd and The Ropers have been in the trading community for years.

I have 19 ABC eps of Three's a Crowd myself-lol

Sol, you can keep saying that all you want--some of us want official DVD releases. I'd rather not have faded, edited copies of someone else's copies.

Yeah that true when it comes to the Ropers but why would someone buy an Official DVD release of Three's a Crowd when they can get all the original ABC eps with commercials with nice quality

The Three's a Crowd set I have was recorded off of digital cable directly to dvd, so the quality is 10/10 perfect. It's the same quality as my official Three's Company dvd's. It included all 22 episodes and the bonus disc was 40 minutes of never aired on tv Three's a Crowd bloopers. John Ritter is hilarious in these.

I could care less if it's a BOOTLEG and I'm not trying to make it sound better. I'm just describing the version I have.

I friggin HATE terrible quality bootleg recordings of old shows. I like getting 10/10 perfect quality tv shows without commercials. That's the reason I usually buy official versions of tv shows on dvd. Since there isn't any official version of Three's a Crowd available and I've been waiting YEARS to see this show, I got this set. If you have a problem with that.....:p
