Actor Naveen Andrews has slammed the makers of TV series Lost for axing Dominic Monaghan from its cast - branding the move "brutal".

The actor, who plays Sayid Jarrah on the hit program, was left devastated following Monaghan's shock departure last year. And Andrews is still confused as to the exact reason why Monaghan - who played Charlie Pace - was written out of the series.

He says, "They have their reasons but for the life of me I can't understand why they got rid of Dominic. You build up relationships over time there and it's tough when someone leaves suddenly - It's quite brutal."

what with all the flashbacks and flashforwards, and dead characters coming back to life, how can anyone say that he is written out of the series exactly?

I can't believe they wrote Dominic out of the show. They had really developed his character, and it makes no sense to me. He brought a lot to the show. I hope they don't start killing off established characters to make room for new ones.

^ Totally agree with you! I wouldn't be surprised if another main character gets killed off before the season ends.

I always expect Jin to get killed, for some reason. By the way Ann, your avatar is simply adorable. :)

I didn't like Charlie dying either. The way it looks like ,their might have only been 6 who get off the Island so more deaths may be coming.

BTW I don't know if anyone heard but Lost is moving to 10pm on Thursday once Grey's Anatomy comes back with new episodes this spring.

No word if it's going to be renewed. I keep hearing it's on the bubble but CBS did order 4 more episodes for this season so that's a good sign. :)

WTH, I thought it was renewed!? It did well in the ratings, I thought. I love that show.

I love the show too. It's one of the best shows on. It does well in the ratings but not in the young age bracket that these stupid networks are obsessed over. I get tired of watching shows only to have them canceled for this reason. I think Shark should have stayed on Thursday for another year until it could get more established.
