Joe's name is one of two names picked for the SO Interview of the Week!!

Ask Joe anything. And away we go....

My questions:

1. You have been part of the SO online community member since you were quite young. What are the changes you have experienced in your posting styles or interests since you were a child?

2. What would you like to do when you are out of high school?

yay, my turn! :woohoo: this is fun.

1. You have been part of the SO online community member since you were quite young. What are the changes you have experienced in your posting styles or interests since you were a child?
well, i've definitely change a LOT since i started posting here - my earlier posts are extremely childish and immature, obviously, lol. i think even in the last 6 months, i've matured a little bit more. i've also gone through quite a lot of interests - i came here for Full House/Who's the Boss, then went into an American Idol obsession for 2 years or so, and now i like various shows (including 30 Rock/Family Guy/The Simpsons). i think i'm at a maturing stage now to be honest, though i'm still not afraid to act like a crazy kid :p i've noticed my posts have become a little more serious, though, within the last few months.

2. What would you like to do when you are out of high school?
this is something i've been thinking about a lot lately, actually, and i think i want to go to college for either music or writing. the thing is, it's hard to get jobs in these fields, but they're really my two passions, and i wanna do something in one of them. i still don't know which one i wanna go into. maybe writing music, lol.

Where are you from?

about an hour from NYC.

What is your favorite food?
i LOVE tacos, especially my mom's homemade ones. mmm...so good. i really like pretty much any kind of chicken, as well.

Do you have a favorite Muppet?
LOL, i actually used to watch the show when i was little...but i can't really remember any of the muppets, except for Kermit and Miss Piggy. i THINK i liked Kermit the best when i was little so i'll choose him. :)

Have you won any more marimba races? Do you think this should be made into a national sport?
unfortunately i haven't been in any marimba races since marching band season (aka marimba racing season) ended :(. and actually i've been thinking of petitioning for it to become a national sport. it needs to at LEAST be shown on ESPN, that's for sure.

Have you ever gone through a "If its not old I dont watch it! TV phase?

When was the last time you sat through an episode of Full House and how much did you suffer?

If you had a heavy and painful object would you go back in time and beat up your 2004 self with it?

Have you ever gone through a "If its not old I dont watch it! TV phase?
not really. i was like that with music for a little while though, when i was little...since my parents really only listened to old music.

When was the last time you sat through an episode of Full House and how much did you suffer?
lol, i watched it a few times this past summer when Nick at Nite had in the overnight marathons. there was nothing else on. sometimes it's still entertaining to watch just cause of how cheesy it is.

If you had a heavy and painful object would you go back in time and beat up your 2004 self with it?
...i'd rather not beat myself up.

What kind of "old music" did your parents play that you used to listen to? (As in the post above)

What kind of art inspires you? (This is a Q I'm asking everyone, since I happen to love art, myself)

What is a "Marimba race"?

If you were given $100,000 tax free, but you could only buy ONE thing, what would you buy?

EmoJoe

What kind of "old music" did your parents play that you used to listen to?
all different kinds. my dad listened to anything from Frank Sinatra, to the Beatles, to Motown. he likes Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder a lot, he used to BLAST CDs of them LOL. my mom is mostly into 70s and 80s rock, like Pat Benatar, Styx, The Eagles...ect. i still really like most of that music, but i like the newer music now too.

What kind of art inspires you?
definitely music. i've loved it ever since i was little, and i still love it now. playing it, listening to it...it's just awesome to me. i love writing too, but i dunno if that's considered an art.

What is a "Marimba race"?
well i don't know if you know what a marimba is or not, but it's a percussion instrument, similar to a piano (only smaller), that you hit with a stick instead of with your hands. kind of like a larger version of a xylophone. me and my friend used to race them back to the music room after marching band practice and we called it "marimba races"

If you were given $100,000 tax free, but you could only buy ONE thing, what would you buy?
hmm...cool question. the only thing i REALLY want right now is a drumset, so i'd go with that.

hmm whats the diff between a marimba and a xylophone? (And btw, who do you get to be the jockeys? )

Youre very close to the border (about 2 1/2 -3 hours from me), do you ever visit Canada? And is there anything about Canada youd like to know?

Do you like the Henry Ford / Greenfeild Village museum? ( Ive always wanted to see it)

a marimba is much bigger then a xylophone and the sound it makes is a little bit deeper then that of a xylophone. you also typically use soft, felt mallets for the marimba and hard, plastic ones for the xylophone. and no one rides them, we just push em - if someone went on top of them, we'd get in trouble. :p

actually, i've never been to Canada...i've never even been to extreme upstate NY, actually (like Rochester/Buffalo). i don't think i've been any more north then around Albany. i think you might be thinking i live more north then i do - i live close to the New York/New Jersey border. the area i live in is called the Hudson Valley because we're right along the Hudson River.my family doesn't really travel a lot, i've never even been outside of the US, actually. -_- i really wanna travel to another country sometime. i'd like to go to Canada someday just to see what it's like. is it true you guys have milk in bags up in Canada? LOL i know it's a weird question but my friend is from Canada and told me is that, and i always wanted to know if it was actually true.

Do you really think that extreme upstate NY is Rochester, Buffalo...or are you more aware that cities such as Potsdam, Canton and Massena actually fall into this category? omg2:
