Glad I found this site. I've been catching up on Ozzie and Harriet episodes on disc waiting for TV Land to pick up the series(David on Larry King said they were working on it but that was months ago). I rented the 5 disc 25 episode tv collection and the quality was awful...so I rented the Best of 4 disc 24 episodes and the quality was very good. Both these sets had an episode titled Making Wally Study(#326 or #327) orig. shown on 02/22/62. The question I have is both these same titled episodes were totally different. One had Wally trying new ways to study by eating certain foods and hanging upside down to study. The other had Rick helping Wally study to bring the Frats grades up, while Rick took out Wally's girlfriend(Ginger). I know it's not that big a deal but if anyone can help me figuire this out I would be grateful.

Welcome to the Boards!!

I think I know what happened. Sometimes, on these sets the shows are incorrectly labeled. For example, on an old set I have, an episode labled The Trip to Mexico (#337) turned out having nothing to do with flying to Mexico -- it was about mistakes on T shirts. So I went back to an episode guide and found out the correct name of the ep was The T Shirts (#266).

Unfortunately, these mistakes occassionally happen on these sets, which are often cheaply produced.

I'm very familiar with the ep entitled "Making Wally Study" (#327) and its the ep where Ricky spends a lot of time with Ginger while Wally studies. The other ep where Wally hangs upside down eating sardines is Study System (#386).

Thanks for pointing out this mistake. I actually never watched the ep titled "Making Wally Study" on the 5 DVD set you referred to as I've seen it several times on other DVD sets. ("Making Wally Study" is a popular ep that often turns up on set releases). So I went back and watched it on the 5 DVD set you referred to. And yes, it is a different ep - its the ep called The System.

I'm really grateful you caught this--cause I got to see a new ep I never knew I had, because of an error in labeling.

And again, welcome to the bds!!!

Thanks rich p. I noticed the episode The Study System on a few episode lists but couldn't get a plot line from them. I went to IMDB to look up Skip Young's episodes and there were 35 of them (I think he was in a lot more from 1957 to 1962) but The Study System was not listed. Again thanks for the info.

Peace, bigguysbrother

35 eps sounds way too low to me. I don't know the exact # but it's at least 100 eps. He was on since '56 or '57 to the end of the series. He was on the show often as Ozzie took a liking to him.

I went back to IMDB and checked ALL the cast and they have Ozzie, Harriet,David & Rick appearing in only a couple of hundred eps.....and we know that's wrong. Although IMDB lists all the epidodes from the 14 years, the cast and crew info pages need to be updated big time!!!

IMDb is completely inaccurate in terms of listing how many episodes a star is featured in a show. They list Charlotte Rae as only appearing in 68 episodes of THE FACTS OF LIFE! I especially wouldn't trust them in terms of older shows like OZZIE AND HARRIET.

Totally. They're OK for a list of characters though. For the O & H ep guide I use Des Martin's.

IMDB is in need of online submissions of the data; it's not that what's there is "incorrect," it's just that no one has confirmed the appearances in each episode -- so it's incomplete.

I'm currently adding appearances for shows like "My Three Sons." It's very easy to do once you register. But you need to be sure that an actor was in an episode -- not guesswork.

Interesting...I didn't know that's how the updates came about. Thanks Dusty!
