In last night's episode did anyone notice that Jinny's tears or should I say Nancy's tears were black? While she was in the bar? I guess she had too much make up on...he he ..sorry, just HAD to bring that up.

They have to wear make-up for the lights. The lights are extremely bright and would pale everyone out very badly if they didn't have make-up on that could counter the lights. The make-up they wear is very think and is often darker than their skin so when the lights hit, the skin color evens out. Hope that helped. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Your right,I was just thinking about that too.My class had to do a play once "Bye Bye
Birdy(SP?)with 3rd-8th graders(I was in 3rd)
and I remember(sp?)the night of the play and
the look on the boy's face's when the teachers told them they had to ware make-up they were running out of the room almost triping over eachother on the way out while all the girls were lining up to get make-up put on.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I do a lot of theatre and I always have to help the guys with their make-up for performances, cause they don't know how to put it on. lol It's kinda fun though putting make-up on cute guys, they're totally at your mercy. I used to take ballet and when we had a recital we had to wear a CRAPLOAD of make up... I've never worn that much in my life! And I was only 7 years old!!! Pretty sad... but I had to wear it because of all the lights and stuff.

I read in a book she only wears a little make-up off set. And I knew she has to wear make-up on set... I just forgot. I also didn't know Jinny wore make-up and that caught me off guard. Sorry.

That's true, but even when Nancy was playing Jo it looked like she had eye make-up on because her eyes looked very dark. And yeah, TV people pretty much have to wear make-up. The lights would make thier faces look shiny otherwise.

okay, first of all being an actress, i know that without makeup u look really bad under the lights even is u r gorgous. Nancy was wearing mascara to make the sceen look more realistic. Like, u could tell she was crying! u know? She doesn't need waterproof or what ever...she knew it was running and so did the director. They planned it! okay? Hope that helps!

That book I believe you're talking about was Micheal something's (I think it was Maron) Make-over Magic or something like that. It had a ton of before and after pictures of stars he worked on. Sorry, I know this is old, but I didn't really notice Jo wearing makeup until the last few seasons, starting in like season 7. Before that, it didn't look like she had any on.
