View Full Version : Solomon's Weekly Rant (2/9/08) Discussion: Nick at Nite Changes, ION, Charles Barkley Pavan 02-09-2008, 02:06 PM Please read: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/02/mini-dvd-review-jackie-gleason-genius.html ... then discuss! Ireneparalegal 02-09-2008, 04:11 PM I don't care what reason N@N has for removing FP from its overnight schedule but all I can say to those of us with insomnia...HOORAY!!!! :cheer: clarkkent 02-09-2008, 04:18 PM I definitely don't think that "Baywatch" of all shows should be shown on a daily basis, if at all. There are so many good comedies that they could choose to air instead of that crap. Why can't they just leave Who's the boss on until that show starts instead of giving us more crappy unfunny drew crey episodes. Ireneparalegal 02-09-2008, 04:32 PM Drew just started on ION. And I love it. ;) TVFactFan 02-09-2008, 04:51 PM I don't care what reason N@N has for removing FP from its overnight schedule but all I can say to those of us with insomnia...HOORAY!!!! :cheer: Well the removal was fine, the new programming was WTF????-lol TVFactFan 02-09-2008, 04:57 PM I definitely don't think that "Baywatch" of all shows should be shown on a daily basis, if at all. And I love it. ;) Me too. I'm not necessary thrilled or disappointed about Baywatch. dakert 02-10-2008, 12:01 AM Why do people even give a shoot about N@N?? Just watch your DVDs!!! or something else  JT 02-10-2008, 12:04 AM I, for one, am looking forward to "Baywatch" on weekdays. I'm sick and tired of dramas and hour-long shows getting the shaft and being stuck on weekends. I'm sorry, but a show that produced nearly 300 episodes should NOT be shown only two days a week. That's ridiculous. I still think it's hilarious how some people just assumed ION would be this haven for 80s sitcoms and now they're upset because they're airing more varied programming. They never made any promises towards anything. TVFactFan 02-10-2008, 12:10 AM I, for one, am looking forward to "Baywatch" on weekdays. Your best in a long time, honestly! I loved the change of Fresh Prince to Roseanne and Cosby (Full House can go), but you're right about theme being unpredictable. They decided to announce the schedule change to their viewers 2 days after it went into effect - what the hell are they thinkinking? Why make a WONDERFUL change to the lineup, but not let any of us know about it??? Baywatch is already a huge letdown to those of us who actually watch ION on a daily basis. Sure, WTB has run its course. It isn't the fact that it's leaving, it's the fact that it's getting replaced with Baywatch. The same thing will happen with Baywatch that happened with 48 Hours . . . they spent all that money on it, but it eventually got replaced just a month later. I don't even remember N@N making a sudden program like this before. Usually we hear from Pav if there are going to be changes made but not turning to N@N at a certain time and seeing something completely different JT 02-10-2008, 03:06 PM "Baywatch" is just a show, just like any other. It wouldn't be any different if WTB? was being replaced by "LA Law" or "Miami Vice" or something like that. Yes, I'm sure many are aware of the fact that the show wasn't always the show that it's portrayed to be in the media but still don't like it, but I think most people are up in arms because they're just assuming the show was just 12 straight years of boobs 'n babes on the beach. Eh, it's hard for me to explain what I think. If you don't like "Baywatch" and don't want to watch it, that's cool. I know I'm gonna enjoy it. Usually we hear from Pav if there are going to be changes made but not turning to N@N at a certain time and seeing something completely different yeah. the same thing happened to me when all of a sudden I turned on Nick at Nite, and it wasn't Full House. We didn't even hear of this change until 3 days after it went into effect. But, nowadays NAN is really slow with announcing schedule changes. They usually announce them just days prior to when they occur. I saw your question on TV Land Board about why was this change made and the Link could not give you a reason so I just responded saying-"when do you think you can provide a reason???-lol JulieSomoski 02-10-2008, 04:29 PM "Baywatch" is just a show, just like any other. The problem with Baywatch is that it doesn't seem like a show that would air at 10pm, on ION. It seems more like a show that should air on weekend afternoons. |
