Stephen King <3 He has my heart. I loved him even more after reading his memoir on writing. I'll always love that guy.

I also love Ann Rule, Edgar Allan Poe, and Chuck Palahniuk.

(and I think I might even gain an appreciation for Shakespeare after taking this class on him! :p )

Kristel, have you read King's new book yet? I just bought it this afternoon. I hope to start it by mid-week.

I like Poe too. In early 1999 I bought a book of his collected work at Barnes & Noble and loved it. I really like Franz Kafka too. His collection of short stories is probably the best collection of short fiction that there is. I read those stories in '99 too. The first half of 1999 was a dark time in my life, and it seemed I read mostly dark stuff because of the way I was feeling.

Besides the obvious J.K. Rowling (that woman is a genius!), I also love Jodi Picoult and Beverly Lewis. I've read several books by all 3 and have enjoyed all of them.
