I think this episode is one of the funniest--the scene with the Skipper's sea chest is hysterical--the spider, the "look at all this junk," the trying to get the ring off!!! Also, the scene with Gilligan, Ginger and Maryann when Gilligan is dressed as Watubi!!

My son asked, why did Gilligan run in the very direction in which he threw Kona? He also thought that the tree with the Skipper's magic powder mark on it looked as if it had a ghost's face on it (By the way, ask kids for their reactions, questions, as well, it'll be fun).

I love when Lovey responds to Maryann's millionth "Gilligan, you're wonderful" with her "If he's so wonderful..." remark, especially since Lovey is on the quiet and patient side much of the time.

It's kind of wierd, I thought, that the Skipper is willing to nose around the Howells' hut, looking for the statue, while they are gone. I don't think they would approve of that. Perhaps it was because the Skipper was so desperate, thinking he had the curse on him.

I think it was merely just a moment of panic. To me it looked like he just threw the statue up in the air and ran, without caring where the statue went.

Gilligan sort of wonders the same thing and the Skipper explains that it was okay because the Howells knew they were going to pick up the trunk anyway. I don't know, it just depends on how you would classify the castaways' trust level and friendship at this point.

I don't remember the part about Mrs. Howell and MaryAnn that you were referencing to.
I'll have to check that out.

I love when the Professor walks in and Gilligan is basically standing on top of the Skipper! The things that must have been running through his head!
On the subject of the Professor, this is one of the episodes when I feel particularly sorry for him. Truthfully, I think the Skipper's behavior would be rather annoying and befuddling. If I was the Professor, I would be somewhat exasperated.

Oh, and I love the Skipper's 'surprise' birthday party.
"I think every captain should look like a pirate" -classic.

sorry once again for the delay!

I love this episode. The skipper is so supertitious.Gilligan is hilarious as the watubi hitting the skipper on the belly while trying to remove the curse of Kona. Also, the scene when the skipper thinks he's a goner and wants to gives Gilligan all his things, including his ring and Gilligan almost teared out the skipper's finger trying to get it off.

The professor:Gilligan!What are you doing?!

Gilligan:Oh!The skipper wanted to give me his ring!

The professor:How is your head,skipper?

The skipper:I don't know but,my finger is killing me!!!
