The sports books handled just more than $92 Million dollars on the game which was the third highest amount ever. The last time the legal operations lost money was in 1995 when the 49ers blowout the Chargers 49-26 which was $400,000

The payouts on the bets were as large as 4 times the original bets because New England was such a huge favorite.

I thought the spread was too big consdering that the pats only won by 3 in the regualr season over the giants. I thought the spead would be 5 or 6

I agree. You could see the Pats were not as dominate towards the end of the season, as they were at the start of the year.

The report I heard on the radio said that most of the big money was won on the people who picked New York to win outright, with no spread.
