Why would Phoenix do this deal?

What a terrible deal. They must really be desperate to get rid of Marion. The Suns run a fast paced offense, and Shaq is old and slow, and I'd be shocked if he has anymore really productive years in him. I've always loved Shawn Marion, and he'll instantly help out the Heat.

I agree, they tried trading Marion before the season to Minnesota for Kevin Garnett and now, for Shaquille O'Neal. I just don't understand why?

call me crazy but for some reason I think shaq will play differently now that he is on a team that is a contender for a title.

kind of like a guy who doesn't dress well and not that good with the ladies but when he gets approached by a hot female who is willing to take a chance on him, he will not be the same-lol

I think this will work for the Suns. Moving Stodumire over to his true position will make him even more dangerous. With Shaq at center the Suns won't have to double team other teams low post player. It will give the Suns a chance to play straight on defence and be able to cover other teams 3 point shooters alot better.

This is a bad trade because Shaq is washed up and he's injury prone. I wish he would retire. I'm sure Shawn Marion is pissed about this trade because i know he doesn't wanna play for the sorry ass Miami Heat.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he has a no trade clause, meaning he gave the trade his okay to go through.

Edit- nevermind. He doesn't appear to have a no trade clause, but who knows. He'll play along side Wade, and they're going to end up with a top 5 pick in the draft, unless of course they start winning.

Pat Riley is ********. Miami is gonna need more than Wade and Marion to get them to the playoffs LOL. Marion complained about his role with Phoenix before the season started this year so it was obvious he wanted to get traded. I don't understand why he would be complaining when he was a star for Phoenix. I read that he didn't like being the 3rd star behind Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire. What a crybaby he is.

Now that Marion is there I don't think They will have the Worst record anymore. I wonder if Marion is playing tonight against the 76ers

LOL@Solomon. Are you crazy? You think Marion is gonna make them a better team? Marion, Wade and Ricky Davis are the only good players on the team LOL. Miami is gonna suck for at least 3-4 years until the rest of those young guys on the team step up and play well consistently.

Yes because Marion averages 20 and 10. I think the Heat will catch the Timberwoves and not be the worst team in the NBA

I don't care what Marion's stats are. It's gonna take more than him to make Miami a playoff team. Most of the players on the team suck and that's why they stink. Alonzo Mourning needs to retire after this season. I hate it when old athletes stick around longer than they need to be.

Shawn Marion INSTANTLY helps out the Heat. Great on the offensive end, and an elite defender. Really a freak of nature; how often to 6'7'' forwards come along and get over 10 rebounds a game?
