Maybe it's only me, but doesn't it seem like the creators of SBS sort of tried to imitate the "Sam Micelli of Who's Boss" by dressing Al in similar clothes, same interest, same "first bra for the tomboy episode" and even similar names? Even their hair was the same. If you ask me SBS stole this character.

At least they didn't steal any characters to imitate your beloved Karen or the Codeman.

well if you think about it cody and steve urkel have many similarities. first both characters were directly responsible for the serie's lasting long. both of them were able to get under one of the other characters skin easily, with cody dana and with urkel laura. both characters were over used during the end of their respective runs.

And Urkel's a nerd, who got on EVERYBODY'S nerves, Cody was cool and only got on Dana's nerves. And Cody wasn't used much in his last season.
