The movie received terrible reviews and also bombed big time at the box office only generating $4.6 million.
"Desperate Housewives" co-star Eva Longoria Parker delivered a dud with her first top-billed movie, "Over Her Dead Body," which opened with a weak $4.6 million to finish at No. 11. Distributed by New Line, the movie stars Longoria Parker as a dead woman whose ghost tries to break up a romance between her fiance (Paul Rudd) and his new girlfriend.
junecleaver 02-04-2008, 01:31 PM Thats weird. The people in the theatre seemed to enjoy it a lot when i was there. I liked it too, and i dont even like romantic type movies.
comedyfreak 02-04-2008, 10:33 PM It looked like it would be interesting, I wouldn't mind seeing the movie.
Considering all the hype surrounding her overexposed over publicized wedding last year, it probably wasn't a good idea for her to play a bride from Hell in her first big film role.
;)
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 01:14 AM There are some tv actresses who should just remain ON TV.
Dean Winchester 02-05-2008, 01:23 AM Eva is not a movie star. She's not exactly Katherine Heigl in terms of being a tv star who also does well in film
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 01:28 AM I hate when an actor or actress, because of pure hype, is given a starring role in a movie. I know it is all abt cashing in on that hype, but over-hype is something else. People may want to see her on television, doesn't mean they want to pay to see her on screen.
Dean Winchester 02-05-2008, 01:32 AM Eva isn't that good of an actress to begin with. I have watched Desperate Housewives since the pilot and have always found her to be the weak link on the show. I remember she was the only one not nominated for an Emmy of the main four.
Eva thinks she's going to be an A-list film star doing Oscar caliber flicks, but I doubt it.
I have a feeling she'll stick with TV. Once Desperat Houswives ends, she'll probably land a TV deal with some network for her own show, either a "Sex And The City" style dramedy or another primetime soap.
HuntingtonM15 02-05-2008, 08:51 AM I never thought she would succeed as a film star. At least not in a leading role. I can see her playing the best friend type in a romantic comedy, but that's about it.

good luck for her
She's already copped the "I'm such a big star, when Desperate Housewives ends, I'll never do television again" attitude in interviews

That will last about a year.
;)
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 07:11 PM I wonder what will last longer, her career or her marriage.
