On more than one occasion this year, Bill Belichick and the Patriots have run up the score on an overmatched opponent, and forced an opposing coach to sit there and watch his beaten team go through the motions while their heineys were being handed to them.

But when the shoe's on the other foot, and Bill Belichick's team has been beaten, he can't sit there and take the pain for a few seconds.

With :02 left on the clock, and his team just having failed on a last chance 4th down effort, Bill Belichick ran onto the field for a quick handshake, and then bolted for the locker room. Belichick's an important guy and everything, but I wasn't aware that the league had given him the authority to decide when games end.

There's time left on the clock, his team's been humbled, outplayed, and lost their chance at history ... and Bill Belichick doesn't have the stomach to sit there and absorb the pain until the clock read 0:00.

That's unsportsmanlike at best, disrespectful at least, and at worst, it makes him a big sissy.

Because Bill Belichick wanted to go hide when he lost, the field ended up being flooded with people, and the officials had to clear the area before the Giants could take their final snap and make it official. When you lose, you take your loss. You don't leave early because it makes you feel sad inside. Your opponent deserves more respect than that.

Anyone remember in 2004 when Randy Moss left the sidelines with 2 seconds left in a Vikings vs. Redskins game? Moss was selfish, a baby, a quitter, didn't respect his teammates, and didn't respect the game. Belichick just did the same thing, but did it on the biggest possible stage, and did it from the position of a leader of men.

Maybe there's something to be said for the inability to lose well ... most great winners don't lose well, and a sore loser is still a loser.

But still, if you're an adult, you finish out the game, and you give your opponents the stage and the respect they deserve.

My mom sure thought he was being a jerk by not even congratulation the other team when Chris Meyers interviewed him after the game. Yeah, it was a big blow, but man up and cuss about it when you get home.

The announcers thought the game was over. He did shake the other coach's hand and hugged him. There was mass chaos and everybody thought the game was over. I'm surprised they even played the last :02, but I guess they had to make it official.

I think he could be a bit more gracious in defeat. I'm sure he's shocked more than anything. I do think they ran up the score at times during the regular season, but they aren't the only team that has ever done it.

And the piling on continues. Give it a rest. I heard Belichick with my own ears congratulate Coughlin and the Giants in the post-interview. Brady did as well. If there's one thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner. I can provide a list of other teams running up the scores even more, so that was just more BS from the jealous haters. I'm not Belichick hating, but I just rewatched the interview and he did not congratulate the Giants or Coughlin. Unless you are not talking about when he was talking to Chris Meyers.

Whoever wrote that article is nuts. Everyone went out on the field. Not just Bill. The clock read :00 I saw it myself. Then it magically went back to :01. That's not Bill's fault by any means, and I do think that article was written by a hater. Tom Caughlin ran on the field too, what's that say about him?

I didn't see the Chris Meyer's interview, and don't even know who he is. I'm referring to what's called in Boston as, The Fifth Quarter. It's a show where they holds a press conference, and Brady speaks too, often Randy Moss. They take turns. This show is on after every game. The press asks them questions. Belichick and Brady both gave Coughlin and the Giants their due, as they do after every game. My husband and I never miss the show.

Not a patriots fan by any means but even I will admit I don't think him running off the field was the act of being a sore loser. I guess he just thought it was over. I mean can you really blame the guy everyone was running on to the field.

I know I will be forced to hide from Janice's wrath after typing this, but this whole thing is one of the many reasons I was so happy New England lost. I've always had the feeling the Patriots were not the most sportsmanlike team in the league. That combined with the whole Spy thing (which seems to be bigger than was thought initially per reports over the weekend - even Senator Specter is getting involved now) just doesn't make them the team you want to "root" for. I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment, though it's clear there are many more Patriots fans that I thought based upon polls I saw on FOX the last few days.

Gotcha! Sorry I thought you were meaning I was the one calling him a sore loser. Besides anyone is not going to be happy when they lose.

Hell yes, he's a sore loser and he DID deserve to lose.

The Patriots Regular Season should be 15-1 and the game that they won against the Jets should've been forfeited!

I Know my dad told me that Bill left befor the game ended

The game was over anyway. Their was no reason for him to stay out on the field.
