View Full Version : SO Interview [pt 2]: Dean Winchester (Week 4)
swedeace 02-03-2008, 11:58 PM Dean Winchester's name is one of two names picked for the SO Interview of the Week!!
Ask Dean Winchester anything. And away we go....
My questions:
1. I don't know much about you, and I feel embarrassed by it. Well, I'll change that! So, tell me a little summary about yourself that sums up who you are.
2. When was the last time you threw a big party? What was the occasion?
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 12:37 AM 1. I don't know much about you, and I feel embarrassed by it. Well, I'll change that! So, tell me a little summary about yourself that sums up who you are.
Hmm... I'm 28, born and raised in Louisville KY. Big fan of music and television. Currently enrolled at University of Louisville. Gay and currently single (and not looking). Need to lose about 15-20 lbs (I'm 190 lbs). I'm the baby of my family. I have severe ADD and have bipolar disorder. I never go anywhere without my iPod as music makes it easier for me to concentrate and focus.
2. When was the last time you threw a big party? What was the occasion?
actually, if you can believe it, I've never thrown a party before in my life. Been to my share but have never thrown one
Mikado 02-04-2008, 01:16 AM What kind of ART inspires you?
What is your "dream car"? (Old or new)
Would you rather live in a high rise in the city, or a gingerbread Victorian in the country?
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 01:17 AM Do you have a fovorite author? If so, who?
with my ADD, I have a very difficult time reading novels so usually if I read anything, it's usually non-fiction
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 01:24 AM What kind of ART inspires you?
I like to look at all art at a museum, rather paintings or sculptures. I mostly like the classic older paintings because I feel like there are stories to be told about the making of them as much as the finished product. Most current (past 30-50 years) art seems to be done with the aid of computers and modern technology that it doesn't seem to be done with the same soul that a Rembrandt or Monet was
What is your "dream car"? (Old or new)
personally, anything that doesn't break down and isn't an eyesore is fine with me.
Would you rather live in a high rise in the city, or a gingerbread Victorian in the country?
they both would be nice to try out. A high rise would be fun since you're in the middle of everything, but a nice old Victorian would be nice because it's so homey and remote. I personally would prefer the Victorian because while I love the urban metropolitan feel of it all, a nice place in the country would be more my speed to live in since I like peace and quiet.

If you could have a romantic scene on a tv show, what show would it be and who would it be with?
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 06:26 PM If you could have a romantic scene on a tv show, what show would it be and who would it be with?
maybe with Jensen Ackles on Supernatural, James Lafferty on One Tree Hill (since he's going through a "cheating" period) or we could bring What I Like About You back and with Nick Zano, rofl.
Ireneparalegal 02-04-2008, 07:15 PM If you could talk to Britney Spears, what would you talk to her abt? What would you tell her?
If given an opportunity to interview a musical artist, who would you want that to be? What would you ask him/her?
Have you ever regretted paying money for a movie that ended up being crap?
What childhood tv shows did you like?
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 07:42 PM If you could talk to Britney Spears, what would you talk to her abt? What would you tell her?
I would probably tell her what she's probably heard a million times. That she needs to get help and needs to go into seclusion for awhile while she gets better. Because the way she's living right now is dangerous being in the public eye while she's very sick.
If given an opportunity to interview a musical artist, who would you want that to be? What would you ask him/her?
Good question, I'm really not sure, because I would hate to meet an artist I admire and see them turn out to be jerks and suddenly not have the music be the same. I think maybe Scissor Sisters would be fun to interview since they're only a few years older than me and one of them is from my state, and they were influenced by a lot of artists I love. So it'd be easier since they're my age and everything.
Have you ever regretted paying money for a movie that ended up being crap?
more than my share of times, most recently was the remake of Halloween. I bought the DVD on sale before Christmas and it was so bad I put it in my "get rid of this" pile as soon as it ended.
What childhood tv shows did you like?
I always was a fan of the NBC shows in the 1980's, I grew up on Diff'rent Strokes, Facts Of Life, Cosby, Family Ties, Gimme A Break, Fame, etc.. For cartoons, I loved the Smurfs, Alvin And The Chipmunks, Flintstones.
Mikado 02-04-2008, 11:33 PM What do you like best about Corner Gas?
Would you prefer hiking, horseriding or climbing a mountain?
Are you and Friendsfan related? (I noticed you both had the same last name on your Avatars a few weeks ago)
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 11:39 PM What do you like best about Corner Gas?
I like the quirkiness and defined scenery/settings of the show. I like that it's an ensemble show where each character has their own room to shine and stand out.
Would you prefer hiking, horseriding or climbing a mountain?
probably horseback riding
Are you and Friendsfan related? (I noticed you both had the same last name on your Avatars a few weeks ago)
nope, I'm white, he's black . We just both had Jensen Ackles pics as our avatar before he changed his avatar
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 12:07 AM What kind of junk food do you enjoy?
Tell us abt a good and bad childhood memory.
Dean Winchester 02-05-2008, 03:33 AM What kind of junk food do you enjoy?
chips, soda (I prefer to drink diet though), chocolate
Tell us abt a good and bad childhood memory.
good. Probably going on vacations most summers in my childhood.
bad. Probably getting picked on in grade school. I still feel a lot of low self-esteem that stems back from things that happened back then. I mean, no matter how much my parents loved me, the criticism from other classmates took it's toll.
LuLu Rogers 02-05-2008, 04:17 AM I made you a cookie, but I eated it :( Are you mad at me?
Dean Winchester 02-05-2008, 04:44 AM I made you a cookie, but I eated it Are you mad at me?

waichingliu81 02-05-2008, 06:53 AM hi john! its waiching!
who do you consider as your two main role models and why? (you have to choose one celebrity or person in the public eye and one non-celebrity, be it family member for eg)
being gay yourself, what would you like to see happen in 5 years time in regards to hollywood's treatment and acceptance of homosexuality in films, tv shows, particuarly with reference to openly and closeted gay and lesbian performers, writers, directors within the industry?
in your opinion, which is worst out of these two and why: arrogance or ignorance?

celebrity-wise I'd have to say Madonna. Call her a slut, hate her music, etc..., but I've always admired the fact that the cards have been stacked against her since her debut album came out, and she has always overcome adversity by coming back even stronger than before. 25 years ago, who would believe she would be getting into the Hall Of Fame and still command top dollar for her concert tickets? I personally have lost interest in her as a person since she got into Kaballah, but as a recording artist, she continues to silence her critics who say she's "too old", she's "an 80's relic", etc.
Non-celebrity, I'd have to go with my mom. She gave gave gave and almost never took. She worked overnight so someone would be home with the kids in the day when Dad was working, and she would be so generous and never expected anything in return

personally, I think the change is upon us, I think the big problem is that we need to wait the older people who hate gay people die off. I think people like Jodie and Latifah have passed the litmus test that most people truly don't care (same with T.R. Knight on television), but a lot of filmmakers are still afraid to cast an openly gay actor in an openly gay role. There was a lot of debate in the community about why nobody ever thought to do a Brokeback Mountain with Robert Gant and Chad Allen.
in your opinion, which is worst out of these two and why: arrogance or ignorance?
I think they are both dangerous. I think ignorance is worse because we're living in the internet age, you have Google, Wikipedia, etc... to try to learn up on what you're trying to say instead of acting like it's still the sixth grade and it's still 1992.
Where would you like to live if you could live anywhere on earth?
Ireneparalegal 02-05-2008, 06:39 PM Do you have regrets in life or do you believe that once something has happened, it's over and you just live and learn from that?
If you could have 5 people at your dining table tonight, who would you pick and what would you talk to each of them abt?
If it were possible and you could interview two famous people who have already died, who would those two people be and what would you ask them?
Do you believe in the afterlife?
ilovethe80s 02-05-2008, 09:11 PM got a sort of fun question. If a movie was being made about your life who would you like to play you and why?
Dean Winchester 02-05-2008, 11:32 PM Where would you like to live if you could live anywhere on earth?
probably in a nice remote village in France or Italy or something
