So what are you eating for the SB????
Ireneparalegal 02-03-2008, 06:42 PM Same as you, Pizza and Hot wings. We were supposed to go to my niece's house for the game, but her big screen tv went out on the blink! Oh well, so here we stayed home. Which is cool since it is raining outside.
Hey Solomon, they just aired that Beyonce commercial that you LOVE SO MUCH! Direct TV.

What will you do during half-time?
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 06:53 PM What will you do during half-time?
On Sitcomsonline either chatting about the SB or looking for new TVThreads-lol
This is TJL reporting from the parent's house
The big screen is warmed up, we've got cold cuts and some hot goodies ready to go, and several Heinekens chilling in the fridge.
Hopefully the game will be close, and the commercials won't suck.
Go Giants!
:cheer: :bluesbros :cheer:
Ireneparalegal 02-03-2008, 07:05 PM Well, I have some beers and a bottle of champagne left over from New Years Eve. It's no fun drinking here at home. ;)
Nothing but diet soda for me, thank you. ;)

Jordin Sparks looks like she is about to pass out-lol She is shaking and u can see it all in her face
Ireneparalegal 02-03-2008, 07:21 PM You know with Fox hosting the Superbowl, there had to be an American Idol person to sing the National Anthem. I am certain she didn't sing it live either. I seen her mouth do a gesture that didn't match what she was singing. Oh well.

American Idol Themed SB-lol
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 08:56 PM The Giants should be actually winning this game. 3 turnovers and a penalty in the redzone is BRUTAL in the SB-lol
The Giants should be leading this game by at least 7-10. They have totally shut down the Patriots except for that opening drive. If they don't turn over the ball in the second half, anything can happen. Patriots had better find a way to protect Brady. That screen pass the Patriots had on 3rd down near their goalline was a killer.
Manning and Brady are having a tough time, especially Brady. They both need to start throwing the ball.
The Giants are too reliant on their running game. They need to start passing more on 1st and 2nd down. They are too predictable. Running the ball on 1st and 2nd down and then hope they can convert on 3rd and short.

I wish the media stop asking the stupid A$$ question-"WILL THE PATS BE THE BEST EVER IF THEY WIN TODAY? The answer is NO!!! That's a question that can never be answered and I'm sick of hearing it
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 09:04 PM Manning and Brady are having a tough time, especially Brady. They both need to start throwing the ball.
I believe the Giants should have went for it on 3rd and goal because FG's in a SB is bullsh*T. Even if they didn't get the TD the Pats would have started at their own 3 instead of near midfield
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 09:06 PM The Giants are too reliant on their running game. They need to start passing more on 1st and 2nd down. They are too predictable. Running the ball on 1st and 2nd down and then hope they can convert on 3rd and short.
TJ running the BALL keeps the Pats offense off the field. That's whar they should have done when they got in the redzone on their first possesion. Why in the hell did they start THROWING???-lol
They need to take a chance and throw the ball down the field. It might catch the Patriots off-guard. Maybe the Giants running game will wear them down in the second half.

Tom Coughlin is STUPID because it was no point in KICKING A FG when you used 9:59 on your first possesion. They should have either came out of that with a TD or the Pats Offense starting at the 3yd line and getting stopped. No FG kicking should be allowed in the SB
You can't use all that time and have such a long drive and get no points out of it. Kicking a FG was the right call at the time. I doubt they thought they could hold the Patriots to 7 points at the half.

But the Defense would have been more PUMPED if the Pats Offense was at the 3yd Line instead of the 49 yd line which led to the first TD. So instead of 7-3 Pats at the Half, the score probably would have been 0-0
The Patriots had that big runback after the field goal. Normally, they would have been starting near their 20-yard line.
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 09:33 PM The Patriots had that big runback after the field goal. Normally, they would have been starting near their 20-yard line.
What I'm saying is the FAILED 4TH AND GOAL would have taken away any chance of a big runback by Maroney and the score would be 0-0
Anyway, the Giants D just made another big stop and now the Offense has to score a TD if they want to win this game. NO KICKIng a Fg to cut the lead to 7-6

Well, it is quite an achievement to have a perfect season and then to win the Superbowl. You got to give them that.
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 09:46 PM Well, it is quite an achievement to have a perfect season and then to win the Superbowl. You got to give them that.
Of course they get credit for that because that's a hel of a achievement but to say they will be the BEST TEAM EVER if they win makes no sense at all
Ireneparalegal 02-03-2008, 09:50 PM Of course they get credit for that because that's a hel of a achievement but to say they will be the BEST TEAM EVER if they win makes no sense at all
If they win today, they will be THE BEST TEAM. Any team that wins the SB is the best team for that year. As for ever, well, until another team comes along and makes this achievement (a perfect season and a SB win) it belongs to the Patriots. In the long run, it is overall game wins and SB wins.

Right, the best team for the 2007 NFL season and will join the dolphins in the perfect season club. But even the dolphinsm who was the only team to ever do it in 1973 is not considered the best team ever-lol

Yeah, I see your point. But those two teams have the distinction of being in an elite club. ;) We have to see how it goes for the next ten years.

I told everyone that the PATS would not DOMINATE THIS GAME
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 10:10 PM I just noticed that I'm no longer recording the GAME because my dumb a$$ didn't check the recording speed and RAN OUT OF TAPE. I had it on SP instead of EP and now will have to beg for a copy
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 10:12 PM Wow Giants take the lead 10-7, 11 min left, I'm thinking this will make the Giants Defense Stronger

TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 10:19 PM Oh man. :faint: You were too excited abt this game I guess.
It was because I made a copy of "STAR OF THE FAMILY" for someone 4 days ago and forgot that I had the speed on SP. Normally I would USE that VCR to record a copy but the DVD was not playing right on that cheap K-MART DVD PLAYER
DAMM!!!!!!!-lll
Ohio8 02-03-2008, 11:06 PM The Giants have won the XLII Superbowl.

BensonFan 02-03-2008, 11:18 PM Congrats to all you Giants fans on the board. You must feel very proud about now! :D
*ClassicPinUp* 02-03-2008, 11:19 PM Damn, Manning is AMAZING! Congrats to the GIANTS! Awesome game tonight.
Congratulations Giants fans! That play Eli made and the catch by Tyree has to go down as one of the biggest plays in Super Bowl history. The Giants won this game more than the Patriots lost it. Giants defense stepped up big and held them to only 14. They had a great gameplan.
Heartbreaking loss for the Patriots fans. They were on the other end of winning three close Super Bowls. A great season and nothing to hang their heads over. They will be back.
Brian Damage 02-03-2008, 11:24 PM Congratulations Brian. Your team played a heck of a game. :)
Thanks Sonny :)
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 11:35 PM I need a pinch, I can't believe this!!!
I'm in shock too, that catch by number 85 was the best catch I ever seen in a NFL postseason game
Chelsea 02-03-2008, 11:38 PM It was a classic defensive epic, capped off with an edge-of-your-seat ending. While others opinions may certainly vary, I'll only say that it's *my* favorite of the Super Bowls *I've* seen (29-onward)

CONGRATS BRIAN...DAMN!!! That was thee most exciting 5 minutes of the game!!!!
Sorry Janice. I really thought the Pats would win. After a perfect season, they deserve something for all that hard work.

Janice and Patriots fans should definitely proud of their team. With 39 seconds left, I still felt that the Patriots had a shot.

One of the greatest Super Bowls ever as far as drama goes.
Ireneparalegal 02-03-2008, 11:45 PM Janice and Patriots fans should definitely proud of their team. With 39 seconds left, I still felt that the Patriots had a shot.
I agree. I never say "Never"..."til the fat lady sings" is my motto. A team can do a lot in the time it takes to kick the ball or throw the ball. I really expected the Pats to come back with a field goal kick to tie it up.
TVFactFan 02-03-2008, 11:46 PM David Tyree made an unbelievable catch. I wonder where Mriggles is???
I hope he is ok, because I think I would be very ILL if the Eagles won the SB the way the Giants did, so I know he is not doing well right now
Mr. Television 02-03-2008, 11:48 PM I think this one goes right up their with the Rams-Titans and the Giants-Bills as far as great SBs go. It sure had a lot of excitement in it.

Best SB since Joe hit Taylor in the endzone back in 89-lol

Well, it's time to call in sick and go to the parade in downtown Manhattan.
Unless you like defensive battles, I don't think it was really that great of a game until the 4th quarter. I remember that the Rams/Titans game wasn't that all great either until the exciting finish.
Who in this thread picked the Patriots to win 44-10? Or were they just doing the opposite? :)

No, Times Square is mid town...downtown near Wall Street.

I picked the Patriots to win big and I really believed that. That is why I am so shocked. The Patriots had two weeks to prepare. I really, really thought it would be a blowout.

So many people at my job thought it would be a blow out and I said-"Don't believe that" because none of the Pats SB wins were Blowouts
Brian Damage 02-03-2008, 11:57 PM So many people at my job thought it would be a blow out and I said-"Don't believe that" because none of the Pats SB wins were Blowouts
That is true, but this was a much different New England offense,
The Giants were on too big a of a roll for this one to be a blowout and the Patriots had been playing close games. I really thought there would be a lot more offense. I'm stunned how the Giants were able to get so much pressure on Brady.

One thing I expect from you and Mike, and that is to give Eli his props. He isn't a "crappy" QB anymore.
theshark8777 02-04-2008, 12:12 AM Pressure on Brady was key i think.

he is the best QB in the division right now
freshprinceofLA 02-04-2008, 03:10 AM This super bowl was better than average! That G-MEN D just straight pushed the Patriots around. Eli is a man now lol I guess PLAX was wrong the pats score 14 not 17 lol

Yeah the Giants defense just got stronger and stronger as the game went on
Chelsea 02-04-2008, 01:06 PM *I* just want to thank the refs. For once, the Super Bowl officiating was good and clean, and they showed good judgement in letting things go and just letting them play. The officiating was so well done you could almost forget it was the Super Bowl.

bandito 02-04-2008, 05:57 PM After Tyree made that catch I knew the G-Men wanted the game more than the Patriots. I told my Wife the Giants are going to win, there was no doubt.

bandito 02-04-2008, 07:26 PM Tyree should have been MVPI think Eli was a good choice for MVP, he played a great game. I thought I would never see Goofy Eli out play Brady, but he sure did. I also never thought Tom Coughlin could out coach Belechick, that also happened.

Probably shoulda went to a defensive guy maybe justin tuck. That defense just played outstanding. They shoulda lifted Steve Spagnulo off the field like they did to buddy ryan in 85'.
