Miley Cyrus has ditched her birth name in favor of her stage moniker. The teenager was christened Destiny Hope Cyrus but adopted the nickname her father Billy Ray Cyrus gave her, Miley, when she first hit it big in Hollywood.

Initially, she was known as `Smiley' because of her happy demeanor, but that became shortened to Miley.

And now the 15-year-old has legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus.
