... then discuss.
dakert 02-02-2008, 03:30 PM I got an error 404 when i tried to hit the linky.
let me comment blindly and see what happens.
NBA--Dont like it-so I dont watch it, no problem here
Lifetime--Use to watch Golden Girls/Designing Wimmen--dont watch either anymore but they are still good programs are they still on Lifetime.
American Idol--Still the top rated program--I have seen a few episodes but I still enjoy my Variety Shows with talented performers aka Sonny & Cher, Tony Orlando and Dawn, Captain & Tennille.
Pavan 02-02-2008, 03:39 PM Refresh it now. Blogger was having some problems earlier.
HugeTVFan 02-02-2008, 04:05 PM Funny rant. I agree with you about American Idol...and William Hung. They just want their 15 minutes of fame. Like that Princess Leia wannabe.....and yeah that naked show is just a rip-off of What Not To Wear.
Scoobiedoo30 02-02-2008, 04:19 PM this is a funnie and awsome rant

LOL, exactly nothing NEW, i guess Lifetime Was hoping no one would notice
Dean Winchester 02-02-2008, 04:28 PM to be honest, Idol gets some of it's best ratings during the auditions, people love to watch the people make fools of themselves. I think they'd slim the auditions down if the ratings didn't show otherwise
Ireneparalegal 02-02-2008, 04:31 PM I am sooooo sick of AI. The auditions were good for the first two season, but after the whole William Hung broohaha, that is when it went overboard. It is obvious that people love to watch people look stupid, act a fool, think they can sing, etc. But in the beginning, it was funny because people really thought they COULD SING. Now, you see people on there who know damn well they can't sing, they just want their 15 minutes of fame. And it doesn't help when morning shows the next morning feel the need to show the "losers from the night before" and show the tape over and over and over again. I swear, my local show GOOD DAY L.A. (that show you liked Solomon) the entertainment reporter loves to show that crap.
Like you said Solomon, they are just hoping to become famous at any cost, they don't care abt being the next Idol, especially when the likes of William Hung have proven that you don't need any sort of talent to sell CD's. What a waste of airtime!
minki 02-02-2008, 05:05 PM Have to agree with you on the American Idol comments. It seems like a lot of them are just there trying to be the next Sanjay or whoever that guy was who sang the Ricky Martin song (Hung, Huang, whatever).
I stopped watching ages ago. It's just like Survivor: after the first season, it's all pretty much the same-old routine, just with a couple of differences that IMO aren't different enough to get me watching again.
icecream 02-02-2008, 05:41 PM I watch a lot of Lifetime (Frasier, Reba, Desperate Housewives), but most of their original series have looked hideous from the ads. On Idol they're not going to trim the auditions as they bring in huge ratings.
sunshinefizzy 02-02-2008, 08:10 PM Yeah, Lifetime really sucks now. I used to watch Intimate Portrait all the time and unless there is new programming situations I don't know about, they don't show it anymore!!! WTF???
dakert 02-02-2008, 10:54 PM I read the rant--but people still like to be able to say--I can still sing better than those peeps--even though they cant/arent able!!! RE: AI

But it's not funny when you know the person is acting stupid to get noticed. Like that fool with the WHITE SHOES who was the last person who auditioned on Wednesday. Just by the way he entered the room I knew he was not there to sing

I agree. I watched seasons 1 and 2 from beginning to end, but after that I just lost interest after the crappy auditions. That was all I would care for. And this season I haven't watched it at all.
I really don't watch Lifetime much anymore. If I do now, it's to see The Golden Girls or Reba.
KurtfromPitts 02-04-2008, 04:08 PM I will watch Lifetime for some of their TV-movies. By the way, what happened to "Army Wives"?

Might have been cancelled like-"Matched in Manhattan"-lol Not sure if it was after two airings though like MIM
Pavan 02-04-2008, 08:10 PM Army Wives was renewed and will come back soon, pending the strike.

Any News on Matched in Manhattan?-lol
Dean Winchester 02-04-2008, 08:20 PM Lifetime has generally treated their sitcoms like crap as well. Ellen only lasted on the network for about four months before being pulled, tho several years later after she had become popular again with her talk show and Finding Nemo, it resurfaced at 1:30 AM for a few more months. They treated Laverne And Shirley terribly too. If you're not The Golden Girls or The Nanny (and now it looks like Reba and Will And Grace too), they don't have a place for you.
Pavan 02-04-2008, 08:23 PM Well 7 episodes for Matched in Manhattan were ordered for season 1...and they all aired. They all will re-air on Valentine's Day from 4pm-8pm. No word if a season two will come.

I think L&S had a similar run back in the spring of 2004
