NEW YORK - Ethan Hawke and his girlfriend, Ryan Shawhughes, are expecting a baby.


"I can confirm and they are thrilled," Hawke's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, said Wednesday. "No further details will be made available," Buxbaum said in an e-mail.


Hawke, 37, has two children from his marriage to Uma Thurman.


His screen credits include "Training Day," "Dead Poets Society," "Great Expectations" and "Before Sunset."

Well, I hope the baby is healthy and they are happy.

I used to like Ethan Hawke all around, until he cheated on Uma Thurman and released this stupid comment:

“It’s unfair when one person’s career is taking off and the other is really suffering,” he says. “What happens — it’s not that they’re jealous of each other; it’s that the person you share your life with isn’t in the mood to support. You want to have a pity party for yourself, but they’re off to the Golden Globes and you don’t want to go because everyone is going to think you are jealous.”

I guess he's finally gotten over Uma, but then again, who knows what's in a person's heart. When she dumped him because of his cheating, he took the divorce HARD. I'd read interviews where he'd state that he just cried and cried. He blew the best thing he ever had in his life, and he was the first to admit it. That's some quote, Irene. Uma is from Boston? I never knew that. She has a unique look and is very beautiful. Too bad Ethan discovered after the fact that he had a great thing going with Uma. That is what self-centered people do. What I don't get is why anyone who is in show business would marry another show business person if they have a fragile ego when it comes to "who is the bigger star"?

I know I was shocked when it came out that he cheated on her. They seemed to be the perfect couple (course - how many DO in Hollywood until they fall apart!).

What I've found out is that Ryan Shawhughes is their former nanny to his children with Uma Thurman.
