But the PORN industry has an exclusive deal with HD-DVD. So you will have to get a COMBO player or an HD-DVD player to see Jenna in pixel-pumping HD.

The downside of HD-DVD & Blu-Ray is that the downloads now are multiple gigabytes for regular films. Which is .. annoying.

I refuse to SELL OUT to Blu ray.

DVD suits me just fine.

It's by the same people who made the DVD standard (hence their ability to keep the DVD trademark), but they are different discs - much higher capacity which is required to store all the extra details & such!

HD-DVD's logo is better because it keeps continuity from DVD, making it easier for consumers.

It also has no "region" system like 'standard' DVD did (and like BluRay does now) and has no "extra" Sony DRM. (plus it's not made by SONY)

Yeah, don't get me wrong, its neat. I was watching my Supernatural DVD on my laptop a few months ago and it looked AMAZING.

I'm just not one of those people that thinks its necessary for me to enjoy it.

Plus I kinda miss my local TV stations being all extra bright and non perfect looking. :(

Like CBS is grainy and looks kinda reddish-pink, ABC looks kinda yellow but crystal clear, and NBC is kinda dark but almost perfect looking in every other sense. FOX kind of has a look all to it's own in that it looks like something from the 90's.

Meh. I'm big into downloading shows & viewing them on the computer. I no longer have a TV in my room. I see no use for one. Need to sell it and get the $15 dollars its probably worth since CRT's are out.

You can buy signal amplifiers that pump more juice into the line to make the signal sharper. they dont really do much for modern day cable/FiOS systems, but they apparantly did work for analog "free to air" antenna signals & such.
