I was a bit impressed that Gilligan knew that it was gold in the cave.

Did you notice Maryann "coming apart" in the swimming to shore scene?
By the way, who gave Ginger the instant swimming lessons?

Why do you think Gilligan hoarded the pearls for himself in the end? Is that like him? Remember Maryann's comment in "Diogenes..." to the effect that Gilligan wouldn't hide (interestingly) pearls from his friends? What do you make of this?

I love the part where Thirston thinks it's Gilligan who is bent over like that underneath the raft! That was a funny gag.

I always felt sorry for Gilligan having to work day and night like that.

forget about Gilligan, poor Mrs. Howell!!!

I always liked how obvious the message of this episode was.

Yeah, Ginger not knowing how to swim. I have a theory behind that :p
So anyway, somewhere along the line of reading stuff concerning GI that Tina Louise asked Sherwood Shwartz if Ginger could skinny dip in the lagoon.. so I don't know if that has any relation to the fact that Ginger the character supposedly can't swim.

I love how the castaways rebel against the Howell's mining monopoly!
Great scene with the Professor and his candel wicks!!

Yeah, Gilligan and the pearls. I think eventually he'd come around and share. And well, if not, I guess it proves that Gilligan really is human
