Seems David Zucker's next film isn't "Scary Movie 5" nor is it the 'Superhero' spoof he's been developing for eons - it's in fact a comedic take on "A Christmas Carol" (no doubt to be timed with the release of Robert Zemeckis's version of the literary classic).
The untitled comedy, which Steve McEveety and John Shepherd are producing, is a satire based on the Dickens classic. Instead of Christmas it's 4th of July. Our Scrooge is saying 'Bah Humbug' to America. But on the eve of Independence Day he is visited by 3 spirits and taken on a patriotic journey and sees America in a new light.
According to someone on the production, "everyone from JFK to Ted Kennedy, Hitler and Mussolini get a ribbing".
No doubt Leslie Nielsen's already onboard.
Filming starts next month on the pic.
