I never noticed that either. But it seems like Slater did the same thing. He used to mostly call him "Morris", but later always called him Zack. I'm sure the writers felt it was better to continue by calling him by Zack for whatever reason. It would also make sense that the more you know a person, the more likely you are to call them by their first name. Of course that's different for Slater, because he actually went by Slater as his name.
