There was a poster(an actual poster, not a person who puts posts on websites), advertising an "anonymous snitch" program, in where participants who snitched to police and FBI, about info on criminals would get paid lots of money. I overheard a couple of people arguing that getting money to snitch anonymously on criminals was a horrid idea. Notice that I said "horrid" and not "horrible", because I use the word "horrid" to describe something worse than being horrible. I thought that was a great idea. You get paid a big reward, the criminals don't find out that it was you who snitched, and they get caught. What's so 'horrid" about that? sounds good to me.:)

It's called Crimestoppers or even America's Most Wanted.

i don't see anything 'bad' about it.. those people probably see it as a way of making money off of others committing crimes, but there are jobs out there that need to be done, and if someone is willing to offer pay to increase the chances of people doing them, so what.

Perhaps it's an issue of being a "snitch".... a Stool pigeon. It's frowned upon in some circles.
Beats me!

Yes, and I'm sure if that couple had something happen to their child or close family member/friend, they would be more than happy to have a snitcher, then. Hell, my family would personally pay the snitcher if we could find out who killed my cousin over 20 years ago.

Same here, My cousin was shot and killed in a convenience store robbery along that same time & the person(s) responsible were never caught.

If it gets criminals off the streets and away from innocent people or helps solve a crime and puts a family at peace... how can it be anything but good?

I'm very sorry about that.
Just so you all know, I'm not saying I agree with the "snitching" thing. I personally find it silly. I just can't imagine any other reason for someone to think to say it "a bad idea". Maybe if I knew more of the story of why and how the conversation took place...
Aw, I don't know what I'm saying! Might as well start rambling...
