I guess he's just not feeling the love anymore. I think she's absolutely gorgeous. Mr. Television 01-24-2008, 08:57 PM http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/01/24/2008-01-24_tony_romo_punts_jessica_simpson.html Tony Romo punts Jessica Simpson By BEN WIDDICOMBE and DAVE GOLDINER DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS Thursday, January 24th 2008, 4:00 AM At least they'll always have Mexico. Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo has reportedly dumped Jessica Simpson, who was widely blamed for costing him a shot at the Super Bowl. "Tony is now starting to blame her himself," a pal told OK! magazine. "Before dating Jessica, he was Texas' golden boy. Now he's become a joke." A few days after the Giants bounced the Cowboys from the playoffs, Romo called the "Dukes of Hazzard" star to tell her their romance was over. "He said he thought it was better if they went back to being friends," a pal of hers said. A final breaking point came when Romo told Simpson he wouldn't move to L.A. - and she responded there was no way she could leave Tinseltown. "It was the moment he realized it wasn't going to work with Jessica in the long term," the pal told OK!. TVFactFan 01-24-2008, 08:58 PM I heard that also. I guess he's just not feeling the love anymore. I think she's absolutely gorgeous. Romo proved he is WEIRDO Mr. Television 01-24-2008, 09:05 PM Romo is very immature. He wants to date the big stars but can't handle the pressure. Everybody knew that the media was going to be all over them when they started to date. If he would have won that Philadelphia game then Mexico probably wouldn't have been as big a story as it was. Now the media is all over Tom Brady this week. I bet it has no effect on him in the SB. Romo can learn a few things by watching Brady. Janice 01-24-2008, 09:05 PM Sonny, I love your new avatar and screen name. Clint is my kind of guy! Hell, I thought it was just some kind of convienient set up. *shrugs* Romo sounds like a dork anyway. *ClassicPinUp* 01-25-2008, 01:46 PM It's not true and I'm glad. (I think they're cute together) From TMZ.com... Jessica Simpson SUES OK! Magazine. Jessica Simpson is fighting mad about an OK! magazine article about her relationship with Tony Romo -- and she's called in the dogs -- aka, her lawyers. Jess is pissed over an article titled "Jessica Dumped!" that appeared in the February 4 issue of the mag. The article claims Tony dumped Jessica after his team was eliminated from the NFL playoffs. Simpson's attorneys say the article is "utterly false" and "is based on nothing more than rumor, gossip and innuendo." The article also claims Jessica's sister Ashlee has attempted to "distance herself" from her sis. The lawyers say that's B.S. too. Simpson's lawyers have sent a letter to OK!'s Editor-in-Chief, Sarah Ivens, claiming OK!'s article is bogus, adding that Jess and Tony are still together and that Ashlee and Jessica remain close. The attorneys say the article reflects a "smear campaign" and has subjected Simpson to "public contempt, ridicule, aversion or disgrace." The lawyers want OK! to "immediately publish a prominent and unambiguous" retraction. freshprinceofLA 01-25-2008, 05:34 PM ROMO'S game off the field and on the field has been wayyy off lately TVFactFan 01-25-2008, 06:19 PM It's not true and I'm glad. Monday Morning "Chatterbacking" on Simpson/Romo Relationship Up Significantly in Wake of Dallas Loss to Giants "Stop Blaming Jessica" for Cowboy Fumble, Many Fans Insist NEW YORK, NY - January 14, 2008 - Online buzz around Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo and singer/actress Jessica Simpson is up dramatically in the wake of Dallas' 21-17 loss to the NY Giants in yesterday's playoff game, Nielsen Online reported today. The relationship between Romo and Simpson has been a hot topic on the blogosphere lately and not only for sport enthusiasts. Conversations are being posted to sites like weightwatchers.com, sitcomsonline.com and democraticunderground.com, making this a highly contagious conversation piece. To no surprise, some fans have blamed Romo's game performance on distractions from his celebrity girlfriend. Since last night's game, the number of messages posted to blogs about the two teams increased 300% since the mid November game when Dallas defeated the Giants in the NFC game, much of it fueled by fixation about Romo and Simpson. "A common trend we see after a big loss is what we call 'Monday Morning Chatterbacking' in which online fans look for culprits or scapegoats. Fair or unfair, there is always a great deal of finger-pointing, and the Romo/Simpson relationship is certainly top of mind with fans," said Pete Blackshaw, executive vice president of Nielsen Online Strategic Services and project manager for Nielsen's 2008 Super Bowl monitoring program. "Virtually every aspect of this relationship has been analyzed, dissected, debated, and critiqued by highly engaged football fans," said Blackshaw. "Even Cabo San Lucas as a 'strength-gathering' vacation spot has been vigorously picked apart!" Blackshaw also noted that certain blogs like TMZ.com have seen unusually high engagement around the issue. The TMZ.com site includes a poll in which more than 100,000 consumers offered their assessment of the issue. Other Super Bowl-related discussions online include buzz around commercials and the game's halftime show performer, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. As in past years, total blog buzz around the Super Bowl is expected to continue building, and peak the day after the game. Nielsen Online Super Bowl Syndicated Report Nielsen's Super Bowl monitoring program includes everything from analysis of ads to the celebrities who star in the ads or the halftime show. Key components of this year's program include: -- Real-time analysis of messages and opinions expressed across nearly 70 million blogs, message boards, online communities, video sharing sites, and sport-enthusiast sites. Buzz will be analyzed by volume, emotion, favorability, specific issue and penetration among influential consumers. -- Comprehensive video analysis, including videos that appear on MySpace. -- Survey Findings to supplement analysis of online buzz with custom online surveys fielded before and after the game. In the weeks leading up to the game, surveys will determine the most anticipated advertisers and commercials. Post-game surveys will gauge if commercials live up to pre- game buzz. -- Analysis of real-time user reviews posted to Hey! Nielsen, Nielsen's experimental online social network.
