P Diddy is threatening to change his name again and reportedly wants to be referred to as Sean John in future. The rap mogul has moved through a series of monikers in the past decade, including Sean Combs, Puff Daddy and Diddy. The proposed new one reflects the brand name of his signature aftershave and is believed to be his sixth different title in total. Explaining the move, P Diddy commented: "I have always evolved and taken a different name each time. "Right now I want to be Sean John because that's where I am right now", said the hip hop star.

why can't he stick with the same name? i can't imagine what will be engraved on his tombstone: sean puff daddy, p. diddy, diddy, sean combs and now joining that list, sean john. i mean, jesus. don't be surprised if he changes it again in say 8 months time, or next year for eg

I could see why he's doing this. The "Sean John" trademark has become more popular and respected than his music persona. Many people purchase Sean John clothing without even knowing that it's associated with Diddy.

I didn't think it was possible, but Seany has "evolved" into an even bigger self absorbed jackass than before.

Kind of sad that the only way he can get his name in the papers these days is to change his name.

Again.

let's face it, outside the rap world he is renowned for changing his name so many times as he does plugging his products and doing celebrity endorsements

Well, he is getting older. Being called "Puff Daddy" or "Diddy" sounds kind of pathetic after 40.

Does anybody really care about this has-been anymore?? I mean, seriously, he hasn't had a hit record for over a decade. His one big hit was ripped off from the Police's "Every Breath You Take" and he's been more famous in recent years for his parties in the Hamptons.

But lately, you don't hear much about him, so he decides to change his name. He does this, of course, to the sound of crickets chirping.

What a joke. Thank Gawd he's over.

which is why he is more famous for hanging out with david beckham, tom cruise or whoever and appearing on after show parties than he is making hit records. his last two hits were collaborations with nicole scherzinger of the ***** cat dolls and christina aguilera but that was like months ago, last year.

i don't understand the hype surrounding him either

^ I never understood it, either, but then I'm not a hip-hop fan.
