I appologize for the shear randomness of this story. It was like 1 am on Jan 1 and I was really tired. For some reason I always get these crazy urges to write when I'm tired so that's basically what happened. So yeah.

Please R n R.
Disclaimer: don't own 'em.

Yet another year had passed for the world and the castaways who had celebrated in somewhat ironics. After much hububaloo, everyone had retired to their huts hoping they wouldn't be spending the next year on the island as well.
A few hours later, unable to sleep, Ginger sat out in the clearing. With the radio playing softly she gazed up at the stars, deep in reverie. A few years ago, she would have still been partying in Hollywood. What a difference a couple of years made...
The Professor walked into the clearing quietly, careful not to wake anybody. He was surprised to see Ginger's figure siloetted in the moon light, sitting at the table, looking almost... wistful.
She turned suddenly, feeling eyes on the back of her neck and then sAid softly in relief, "Oh, it's you."
"Yes, I'm sorry to have startled you," the Professor said, his face illuminated by the starlight as he came closer.
"It's okay. I was just... thinking."
"Yes, I know what you mean. I couldn't sleep either. Yet another year gone and we're still on this island. I was so sure we'd be rescued by now."
Ginger remained silent for a moment, reflecting upon these words. Finally she responded, "I know. I used to be so frustrated, being trapped here, knowing that some other girl was getting her big chance to shine. It still bothers me at times. And then sometimes, I think the seven of us were shipwrecked for some fateful reason..."
"Perhaps. Either way, we must make the best of our time here," he replied gently.
They sat quietly, not having much to say, staring up at the starry night sky.
As a new song came on the radio, the Professor extended his hand and asked, "Would you care to dance?"
"I'd love to."
They glided onto the dance floor, holding onto eah other happily. The songs went by and gradually they were closer and closer to each other. A tingle ran down her spine as Ginger realized how much she enjoyed being this close to the Professor.
"We've been dancing for quite awhile," the Professor noted softly.
"Have we?"
The song ended as did their dancing, and they stood awkwardly, looking at each other.
Finally, the Professor broke the silence, "Perhaps we should go back to sleep."
"Yes... I guess you're right," she sighed. She was about to turn to leave when the radio began to play "Dream a Little Dream of Me". Ginger kissed the Professor softly on the cheek and whispered into his ear, "Thanks."
The Professor stood slightly dazed for a few seconds as he watched Ginger walk away. Quickly, not knowing what had come over him, he hurried over to her, grabbed her hand to stop her, and then pulled her into a kiss.
Stars fading, but I linger on dear, still craving your kiss...
They seperated slowly.
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear... just saying this...
"Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you, sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you. But in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me," Ginger sang along with the radio.
"I will," the Professor whispered in her ear before giving her one last embrace.
As Ginger watched the Professor walk away, his kiss still lingering on her lips, she thought to herself, maybe another year on this island wouldn't be such a bad thing...

Okay, sorry if that was corny, but that's just what happens when I get in the mood to write.

If you've never heard the song, check it out, it's AMAZING!!!
