I love Subway and eat there every night for dinner, either a cold cut trio or a meatball sandwich

It's *alright*, but it's not my favorite. For *my* money, the best sub place is a restaurant called Firehouse Subs. Right now most of their locations are in the Southern US (though they have locations in Arizona and Nevada now) but they're expanding quickly. Best subs I've ever eaten.

I like either their meatball marinara sub or their italian meat sandwich
(Ham, Salami, Pepperoni & Provolone).

See I think the Mistake my family made is comparing the Subway sandwich to a thing in Philly called a HOAGIE and that was something they were not supposed to do-lol HOAGIES and SUBWAY SANDWICHES are totally different

No matter what, I wish Subway and Mr. Submarine would go back to making milkshakes. I don't know why they dropped them. Nothing better than an asst'd coldcut with a thick chocolate shake! :)

I hate the place. My homemade subs are much better and tastier than anything I have ever had there. The cheese there tastes like plastic and the meat is definitely over processed.

There is a Subway less than a mile down the road from my job and often I will go there to get a sandwich for lunch. :drool:

It's okay. They don't put enough meat on though. I often times eat a mustard and lettuce sandwich instead of a turkey, lettuce, and mustard. I swear they put on 2 slices of meat. I want more meat and NOT have to pay extra for it.

Their mustard isn't as hot as Jimmy John's though. That can be a plus.


Best place to get a sub...Mr. Goodcents. Too bad most of them are in Missouri.

i prefer the non-chain sub shops around here...but i have to admit, i still love Subway.

Like a couple of the others, I recently discovered Quiznos and wents nuts for it, but I think I over-did it for a while. Plus, one place I went to, I ordered the Philly Cheese and they sliced the roast beef waaay too thick - it was gross and I couldn't finish it. It's now put me right off them for a bit.

With Quizno's it depends on which location. The couple I tried skimped on the meat too much. The one right by my house wasn't open for very long before it closed down. No meat, no business. I don't want a lettuce and mayo sub.

its not bad. i only buy their food occasionally and i order the 1.99 sub of the day. plus unlike mc D's and places like that, their food is very pricey and so the price is another thing i have to consider as well

Maybe the shakes were just a Canadian thing or something. Boy they were good! Way better than McD's.

Now if I'm at a food court or something, I'll grab a shake at Dairy Queen and then either a Subway, Mr. Sub or Mama Burger from A&W.

I love Arby's Market Fresh Sandwiches. I like the Frescata sandwiches at Wendy's too.

Subway is an "ok" sandwich joint. But as someone said earlier... local shops always tend to be better. There's a place called Busy Bee Market a few miles away from my house, many call it the best sandwich restaurant in California.

Yesterday I went to a Subway location that I'd never been to before and never thought I'd have a reason to complain but I do. The problems began when the woman ahead of me decided to order 6 subs. That didn't bother me but the food they were serving sure did.

The first issue was that there were only 2 types of bread to choose from, Regular and whole wheat. They claimed that they were out of the other bread types but I saw different ones sitting unbaked on their racks

She was getting all regular bread and it was smashed flatter than a pancake. it was all the workers could do to keep the subs from literally falling apart. I also used to work at Subway so I know how the bread should look and this looked like it had been run over with a truck.

If that weren't bad enough, One of the workers had long dirty-looking stringy and presumably unwashed lately hair sticking out from an equally dirty baseball cap.

The other worker's appearance was fine and his attire consisted of the appropriate Subway uniform. The only problem with this person was that he appeared to have a cold and was wiping his nose on his shirt sleeve.

After all that, I decided that I would never visit that location again but I will continue to eat at the others I go to. I'm calling the home office to file a complaint because there was absolutely no sense in this.

I've always liked eating at Subway, but recently, this one shop near where I work for some reason seemed to go down in quality. Their sandwiches were kinda blahh. It wasn't as good as before, especially when they changed ownership and reduced their prices. Their menu seemed to changed into regular standard stuff than all the sandwiches I really liked. What was going on?? :confused: But this weekened I had the oven-roasted chicken breast with everything on wheat and it was really good. :eat: :liplick:

But I'd really like to go back to Quizno's, those can't be beat.

Over the last year or so, I've gotten so sick of the Subway Smell that I can't even go NEAR the places anymore.

I enjoy it. I really ate there a lot recently during the $5 footlong special. Did a lot of the Jared's subs :lol:

There isn't anything else in my town like a Quizno's or Blimpie or whatnot.
Now because I live in Louisiana, we have plenty of places that serve Po-Boys. Now dem der is good eats, aiiiiii-eeeeeee :D

Subway is amazing. Never had a problem with them, always in nice clean locations here.

I used to eat at our Subway all the time, until one time I returned home(I went through the drive-thru) and found a pen wrapped up right next to my sandwich. Yeah, I removed the pen, but the sandwich smelled like warm ink. So I brought it back, and just got a refund, as I had lost my appetite for them.

I've gone back since, but not until after a long while, and then not too often.
I do like the chicken cabenara at Quizno's. And I watch where they put their pens as well.;)

Subway is pretty good...the local sub shops around here are much better though. but whenever i go to the beach i always get Subway cause its right on the boardwalk so eating Subway on the beach has become a TRADITION lol. and ive never been to Quizno's.

I saw a SUBWAY in Atlantic City right in he mix of everything, Casinos, Shops, Malls, and I just can't see someone in that area being in a mood for a subway sandwich

i hate oil and vinegar on subs too. i always get my sandwiches dry. people think im insane but i cant stand it when the bread gets soggy.

i dont mind it as much if its hot...i can tolerate it on meatball parms.

yeah i wouldnt want it on the "actual" boardwalk (in AC or anywhere else) cause theres so much better food there then fast food, but the boardwalk i was talking about only has a few stores/restaurants so it works

Thats what I'm sayin. Quizno's Is the better of the two in my opinion. I can eat Subway when I'm really hungry and don't have alot of time. But other than that, I rarely go there.

I almost never go to Subway's too. I like Blimpie's better. But when I really want a GREAT Italian sub I go to Balducci's - they make one that's out of this world.

one sandwich does it for me, and i get a 6 inch. subs are very filling. although i usually get chips too.

Bread has carbs. Not a good way to lose weight sometimes.

Anything made with ENRICHED white flour is a no-no for me. Just about anything white--potatoes, rice, pasta.

I opt for the wheat bread there, but I have a feeling it is not WHOLE wheat that they use at Subway.

They don't digest well regardless of your age. Meat and cheese have zero fibre and it's probably the cheese that's causing most of your chest problems.

Not true, at 19 I could eat a foot long meatball sub and had no chest problems

at 32, I eat a 6 inch meatball sub and the chest difficulties arrive and i'm in bad shape-lol

Sounds like you need to try another sub unless your partial to the meatball.
