Not personally, but back in the mid 80s I was a clerk (My official title was "Traffic Manager," but I was just a clerk.) for one of the larger video distributors here in the New York area. We shipped, almost exclusively, via UPS, and we lost packages all the time. It was my job to prove to UPS that they had never delivered these packages and to get them to reimburse us. This was not always as easy as it sounds. videotradeblog 01-21-2008, 01:12 AM I've had them lose something temporarily. I see the UPS driver out and about so I was able to pull him over and get him aware of the situation. The next day he found the package in the back of his truck behind or under something... As for USPS, a "Priority Mail" sent to me just took over 30 days (!!!!!) But the same thing there. Making them aware of the situation helps. I contacted the local office, then the 800-ASK-USPS number, then the usps.com website. Within a couple days, something worked, because the package was miraculously delivered. I think having the tracking number helped that time (even if they were temporarily unable to tell me where the package was even WITH the tracking number!) |
