wiseguy182 01-19-2008, 08:28 PM oh no! I loved Lois in the midnight sun :(
Zoneboy 01-19-2008, 08:39 PM She was 78 years old
She was 80, Most sources including IMDb give her D.O.B as August 6th, 1929 but she was actually born in 1927.
Coffeecup 01-19-2008, 08:42 PM The first time I saw her was in a Stewart Granger movie in the mid 1960's. I think her bigger well know fame was in "The Heat of The Night tv show with Carrol O'conner. Anothe name from the past passes away.
Very sad news, I remember her as guest star in some of the westerns like Gunsmoke & Bonanza too.
tvfan0101 01-19-2008, 11:47 PM This is awful news. She is one of my favorite actresses, although I have only seen her television work. And "The Midnight Sun" is my personal favorite episode of The Twilight Zone and I have seen it many, many times. I was fortunate enough to attend the Twilight Zone convention in New Jersey in 2006 and was able to meet Ms. Nettleton. She was very charming and spoke about her experience on The Twilight Zone in front of a very appreciative crowd.
Mr. Television 01-19-2008, 11:50 PM Very sad. I know her mostly from In The Heat of the Night. R,I,P. Lois. :(
friendsfan77 01-20-2008, 01:06 AM RIP, I remember her best from Golden Girls and her appearances on Pyramid. :(
Scoobiedoo30 01-20-2008, 02:01 AM Rest in Peace
Apparently, there is little news of this on the internet

There's currently no official word but I trusted my source well enough to go ahead and post it. If I had found the info on Wikipedia or IMDb, We wouldn't be discussing it right now.

She's probably one of those actresses where you'd recognize her if you seen her but aren't familiar with her name.

Here are some odd facts concerning Miss Nettleton:
Her Co-star in The Midnight Sun was Jason Wingreen who co-starred with Allan Melvin in All In the Family/Archie Bunker's Place. Allan passed away the day before Lois. Jason Wingreen's other Co-star was of course Carroll O'Connor who co-starred with Lois in In the Heat of the Night
Lois co-starred with Betty White in a memorable episode of The Golden Girls, Both Lois and Betty were born in Oak Park, Illinois
Lois passed away one day before Suzanne Pleshette, Suzanne's co-star Bob Newhart was also born in Oak Park, Illinois and her other co-star (Peter Bonerz) shares a birthday with Miss Nettleton (August 6th)
TripperFan 01-22-2008, 12:35 AM Thanks for the pic! Yes, it's the lady I thought it was. Too bad - she was a good actress. And that episode was on the TZ marathon over the Christmas holidays - I only tuned in for two eps and it was one of them. (One more slightly freaky trivia piece).
Rest in Peace Lois :(
ABlairican Pie 01-22-2008, 01:03 AM I remember seeing her often on old episodes of 'The Fugitive'. She played a love interest or someone who helped Richard Kimble in some way. I recall she was also on one episode of 'The Facts Of Life' playing the wife of Beverly Ann's ex, who was played by Dick Van Patten. She was a very lovely actress.
