Beyoncé and the Foo Fighters said Thursday they'll attend the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10, despite the threat of picket lines by striking Hollywood writers.

"The work of The Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate," said Mathew Knowles, manager/father of Beyoncé, who's nominated for record of the year. "Beyoncé has been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best."

Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, who are nominated for album and record of the year, said he and his band are still planning on participating in the second installment of My Grammy Moment, a competition on YouTube in which unsigned musicians vie to perform with the Foo Fighters on the telecast.

"We're participating in My Grammy Moment because it creates opportunities...to write, compose, play and study music – skills that absolutely need to be passed on to generations to come," said Grohl.

The Writers Guild of America has said it will picket the awards ceremony and ask Screen Actors Guild members to boycott the show as well. (Like Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé, many music stars are also actors.)

why should the Grammys get screwed over because of the writers? Grammys are for music.

I'm sick of all the writers, they just love being lazy and not working, to hell with them all. Matt and Trey will definately put them all in their place if the strike is still on when the next SP season premieres, and that'll be all worth it

ugh why in the world are they picketing this? Do they not realize that doing stuff like this is making it harder for some people to support them?
