Nothing ever compares to the original. Still, this actually lasted as long as the original. I think the actors did an adequate job, much better than the 'new' cast movies in the 90's, those were awful. They should realease it on DVD. :)

I've seen clips on Youtube and it's really wretched, hardly watchable and once they make little Eddie hip by giving him 80's style threads it just became another turd among a sea of sitcom turds.

It's nice to see a continuation rather than a reboot where they change the premise and slap on the same name.

There are some talented actors in the series, no question, and I appreciate the show tried to keep the same feel as the original.

Some jokes work marvellously... right down to Lilly saying "I'll get the bats' milk"...

...and yet, something about the show does not work despite it all. Not just due to the 80s color scheme... then again, the original 1960s pilot (in color!) didn't do much for me either. Maybe it's because I'm used to the show in black'n'white and that has a more apropos feel?

I'm somewhat surprised it lasted longer than the original. The same can be said for Star Trek The Next Generation considering how awful its first season got...!

I actually LOVE the show in color; I wish the original had been, as well.

It's October! Happy Halloween! pumpkin:

Man, I really wish some cable channel would pick this show up for their line-up; even if only an October marathon.

When you try to re-make a cult original 99.9999% of the time you end up being TRYING. Sometimes the smart thing to do is to leave well enough alone; and rather push forth syndication of the endearing original.

But, sigh, someone ALWAYS has to try and reinvent the wheel; the end result usually being a very clunky square!
