I left my last class at school about and hour ago and it was snowing like crazy. Even as I look out the window now it's comming down pretty hard. It's not cold enough for it to stick, but I'm in total shock that it's snowing at all. This is only like the 4th time in my life I've ever seen snow! I took these two pics, the first one being my German Shepherd mix Samantha and the second one being a rough looking version of me!

I live in central NY...we will gladly give you some of ours if you really want it. :p Actually, for this time of year there's barely any. Last year we got slammed, but I guess that wasn't until February.

Same here in Ohio. It rained on Christmas in 2006, and when we finally got socked with a blizzard, it was on Easter Sunday - in April 2007!!!

I only live about 3 hours away from you Ann. I live in North Alabama, in fact, my house is about 8 minutes from the Tennessee state line. :)

Thats cool! I've been down I-65 through Alabama on the way to Panama City, but its been awhile. It's real pretty country there in the northern part of your state.

Happens here in GA as well. Nothing's even fallen out of the sky yet and closings are already plastered all over the screens. I used to love it when I was in high school, even though I knew that if I were still in Indiana, a lot more would have to happen before school would close.

We're supposed to get some more here tomorrow too.

They're not spoiled! Children under the age of 5 in Alabama didn't know what the hell snow was until Wednesday!

Yeah, its funny, we'll hear of the south getting a skiffing of snow and kinda chuckle how it shuts down the whole city, but we've got to remember that here, we're always prepared with tons of plows, salt trucks, etc. who get out there for the roads. We're also used to driving on snow covered roads.

I can feel for a place that rarely gets it and they don't have the equipment or knowledge to deal with it. I'll bet its great fun for the kids though! ;)

I understand perfectly, where I live we're used to snow and are prepared, we dont get alot by no means, bout on average 3 in a year but we know what it is, 100 miles south of me that never get it.

This is our typical snow. Sometimes a lot more though. Just a few miles south of us though it's a different story - this amount would be considered a lot.

Did you know that Alabama actually has a ski resort! I believe it exists in Northeastern Alabama somewhere off of Interstate 59! (Forgot the ski resorts name, though!) But, yes, on most years it does snow in northern Alabama (especially good snow up in it's mountains!)

-So what part of Alabama were you at that it snowed?

Northern Alabama  Near the Tennessee state line. Our mountains in Alabama aren't tall enough to keep snow, I don't know where you got this info, but I've lived here my entire life and I can tell you, it doesn't snow very often in Alabama.
