One of America’s greatest pop culture cartoons meets one of America’s greatest pop culture in Family Guy: Blue Harvest! This single-disc release brings you the extended premiere episode of the 2007-2008 season of Family Guy as well as a handful of special features in a freakin’ sweet DVD.
For those that know the story of Star Wars, the story here will seem very familiar. In fact, it is the same story, except Family Guy characters play the parts of the Star Wars characters. We have Chris as our star in this episode, playing Luke Skywalker, Peter playing Han Solo, Lois playing Princess Leia, Stewie as Darth Vader, Quagmire as C-3PO, Cleveland as R2-D2, and Herbert as a very pedophilic Obi-Wan Kenobi. But how does this all differ from the true Star Wars? Well, in the typical Family Guy fashion, there are the usual jokes and cultural references that Family Guy fans are used to! The only thing missing in the episode is cutaways, but then again, the whole episode itself is somewhat of a cutaway.
I have to admit, I am not the biggest Star Wars fan out there. In fact, I hate Star Wars. But Family Guy is one of my favorite shows, and this is one of the best episodes of this great series... any fan will love this!
