Edmund Hillary along with his Tenzing Norgay in 1953 were the first 2 to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. But yesterday on Jan. 11 Edmund Hillary passed away at the age of 88 of heart failure in New Zealand

Actually he WAS the first to climb Everest - not just one of the firsts.

I remember doing a report on him in grade 7 geography. I even did an "interview" with him on top of the mountain to present to the class. I was "Walter Concrete". :lol:

He sure lived an amazing life! I hope they spread his ashes on the top of the mountain. Rest in peace Sir Hillary.

Now there was a full life!
