Sliders - This Sci-fi series had a cast of four "sliders." Quinn Mallory (Jerry O'Connell), Professor Arturo (John Rhys-Davies), Wade Wells (Sabrina Lloyd), and Rembrandt Brown (Cleavant Derricks). Towards the end of the third season, Arturo was killed. He was replaced in the group by Maggie Beckett (Kari Wuhrer). At the beginning of the fourth season, Wade was gone and after a few episodes, Colin Mallory (Charlie O'Connell) joined the Sliders as Quinn's brother. At the beginning of the fifth season, both Quinn and Colin left due to a "slide gone wrong". Quinn became Mallory (Robert Floyd) a double of his, that he's combined with. As the season goes on, Mallory has less and less memories from Quinn, as if he was slowly dying. Also joining the group was a lady scientist, Diana Davis (Tembi Locke). So the final tally, has only Clevant Derricks in the whole series.

Ellen - The comedy began with Ellen Morgan (Ellen DeGeneres), Adam Green (Arye Gross), Anita (Maggie Wheeler), and Holly (Holly Fulger) as friends who would hang out, mainly at Ellen and Adam's apartment. After seven episodes, Anita vanished, and Joe Farrell (David Anthony Higgins) joined the show as Ellen's employee at Buy the Book. At the beginning of the second season, Holly was gone. Paige Clark (Joely Fisher) joined the show as Ellen's best friend. Audrey Penney (Clea Lewis) became a recurring character that annoyed Ellen, as well as the other characters. At the beginning of the third season, Audrey was a full time cast member. Spence Kovac (Jeremy Piven), Ellen's cousin moved in with her. Adam left for a job in London, after a few season three episodes. The cast remained the same, until the fifth season. Ellen was gay, and had a recurring girlfriend, Laurie (Lisa Darr). Ellen's friends, Paige, Spence, Joe and Audrey all became recurring. Final total, only Ellen was in the whole series, though Joe was a close second joining the show midway through the first season.

Saved by the Bell: The New Class - Scott Erickson (Robert Sutherland Telfer), Weasel Wyzell (Isaac Lidsky), Tommy DeLuca (Jonathan Angel), Lindsay Warner (Natalia Cigliuti), Megan Jones (Bianca Lawson), and Vicki Needleman (Bonnie Russavage) were the original "New Class." Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins) was still the Principal. In the second season, Scott, Weasel and Vicki were gone. Brian Keller (Christian Oliver), Bobby Wilson (Spankee Rodgers), and Rachel Meyers (Sarah Lancaster) joined the show as well as the return of Screech (Dustin Diamond). At the start of the third season, Brian, Bobby and Megan were gone. In came Ryan Parker (Richard Lee Jackson), RJ Collins (Salim Grant), and Maria Lopez (Samantha Becker). When the fourth season started, Tommy, Lindsay and RJ were gone. Nicky Farina (Ben Gould), Eric Little (Anthony Harrell), and Katie Peterson (Lindsey McKeon) joined the show. The fifth season opened with only Rachel gone. In her place was Liz Miller (Ashley Lynn Cafagna). The sixth season opened with only Ryan gone. In his place was Tony Dillon (Tom Wade Huntington). The final tally has only Mr. Belding in every season.

What are some others?

Law And Order doesn't even have a trace of it's original cast today, or even it's cast from 1998

Law And Order doesn't even have a trace of it's original cast today, or even it's cast from 1998

That's the first show that came to my mind too. That's why I stopped watching about 5 years ago.

The Facts of Life had quite a bit. Most of the girls were dropped after the first season, then by the laster years Cloris Leachman came in, and they had those other 2 new kids come in (I can never remember there names).

Mad About You also had quite a bit. While Paul and Jamie stayed, it seems like friends and family came and went. They started off with that one guy that was in half of season 1, then they brought in Paul's cousin Ira came in, then they had Fran and Mark, which were recurring, then regulars, then recurring again. Then they had Jamie's sister Lisa, who was dropped in like season 5, then Paul's sister Debbie came in, who was a lesbian, and her girlfriend then became recurring. Then of course there were Paul and Jamie's parents, who I believe were regulars at some point during the show. If that isn't a lot, I don't know what is.

Roseanne had a lot as well. Not much cast changes, just a lot of new characters coming and going. Crystal of course was one of them, which disappeared after season 5 then made one final appearance in season 8. There were all the Wellman's coworkers, like Booker, who were gone after season 1. Then we got Nancy around season 4 I believe, Leon in season 4, and David and Mark. Then we got Arnie, who disappeared (we all know why). Fred came in as Jackie's husband up until season 8. Ann Marie, her husband Chuck, and their kid came in around season 6 and were gone by season 9. Then there were Dan's mom and Dad, and Roseanne mother who stayed with the show throughout the whole series (appearing a lot in the later seasons). Yet through all this, the 5 main characters stayed with the show the entire time.

The Doris Day Show - The show started with Doris Martin (Doris Day) living on a farm with her father, Buck Webb (Denver Pyle) and two sons, Billy (Philip Brown) and Toby (Tod Starke). Plus, the goofy ranch hand Leroy B. Simpson (James Hampton) and housekeeper Aggie (Fran Ryan). After about ten episodes, a minor change occured. Aggie was gone and the new housekeeper was Juanita (Naomi Stevens). The second season began with Doris still living on the farm, but working in San Francisco for "Today's World" magazine. Leroy was no longer seen, except for a guest spot or two. Juanita was also gone from the cast. Mr. Michael Nicholson (McLean Stevenson) was Doris' boss. Her new best friend was Myrna Gibbons (Rose Marie) from the office. Also there was Ron Harvey (Paul Smith). The third season saw Doris moving to San Francisco with her two boys. Buck was now gone, since he stayed on the farm, though he did make a couple guest appearances. Angie Pallucci (Kaye Ballard) and her husband Louie (Bernie Kopell) were Doris' italian restaurant owner landlords. They appeared on a recurring basis as did Mr. Jarvis (Billy DeWolfe) a pain in Doris' behind. He couldn't stand her and the feeling was mutual. In the fourth season, Jarvis became Doris' landlord. But more serious changes occured. Billy and Toby were gone without explanation. Mr. Nicholson, Myrna and Ron were also gone. Doris was now a reporter for "Today's World" magazine, instead of secretary to Nicholson. She had a new boss, Cy Bennett (John Dehner) and a new best friend, Jackie Parker (Jackie Joseph). This format continued through the fifth season, with Doris also having a boyfriend in Dr. Peter Lawrence (Peter Lawford) and later for a few episodes with Jonathan Rusk (Patrick O'Neal). At the end of the series, only Doris has been in the whole series.

And to think, I thought "ER" was doomed once George Clooney left. But if I'm not mistaken, the show's lasted longer without him, lol.

Yea I think you're right. The show really should have ended when Anthony Edwards left though. I tried to keep watching but it was not the same...and I got tired of Carter and Abby's love life. lol

Night Court - Once it settled into a cast, it stayed for the duration of the show. But there were many cast changes in the developing years of the show. The first season consisted of Judge Harry Stone (Harry Anderson), Court Clerk Lana Wagner (Karen Austin), Bailiff Bull Shannon (Richard Moll), Bailiff Selma Hacker (Selma Diamond), D.A. Dan Fielding (John Larroquette), and Defense Liz Williams (Paula Kelly). Lana didn't seem to survive the first season, vanishing before it's completion. In the second season, Mac Robinson (Charlie Robinson) was the new Court Clerk. Billie Young (Ellen Foley) was the new Defense, replacing also vanished Liz. Selma passed away and in the third season, not only was there a new Bailiff, Florence Kleiner (Florence Halop), but a new Defense as well. Since Billie was gone, Christine Sullivan (Markie Post) joined the show. The third season was the only season for Florence, who also passed away. In the fourth season, Roz Russell (Marsha Warfield) became the new Bailiff. For the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth seasons, the cast remained the same. But still, the only characters in all nine seasons are Harry, Dan and Bull.

7th Heaven had many cast changes! It started in season 7. Both Jessica Biel and Barry Watson left the show and Jeremy London and Rachael Blanchard came in. Also in season 7 came Ashlee Simpson, which she was surprisingly good compared to her singing and Scotty Leavenworth. In Season 8 came Tyler Hoechlin when David Gallegher left for a year! Later on Haylie Duff came as well as a few others! By the last season, they were only four people there (not including Happy the Dog) from season one!

Family Matters. In season one they had eight regulars, Carl (Reginald
Vel Johnson), Harriet (Jo Marie Payton), Mother Winslow (Rosetta LeNoire), Eddie (Darius McCrary), Laura (Kellie Shanygne Williams), Judy (Jaimee Foxworth), Richie (Joseph & Julius Wright) and Rachel (Telma Hopkins). Halfway through season 1 Steve Urkel (Jaleel White) became a recurring character, and was a regular in season 2. Also Richie was aged, so he was recast to Bryton McClure. Inn season 3 Waldo (Shawn Harrison) became recurring, and was added as a regular in season 4. Rachel was recurring in season 4, with her name only credited in episodes she appeared in. By season 5, Rachel and Judy were completely gone. In season 6 Myra (Michelle Thomas) became a regular, and Mother Winslow and Richie were seen less and less. In season 8, 3J (Orlando Brown) became a regular. And Richie was no longer a regular, but was still seen a little bit. In season 9, Richie and Mother Winslow were gone. And halfway through season 9, Harriet was recast to Judyann Elder. So the only people who were always regulars since season one was, Carl (Reginald Vel Johnson), Eddie (Darius McCrary) and Laura (Kellie Shanygne Williams).

Sabrina the Teenage Witch
The show started with Sabrina having 2 friends, Harvey and Jenny, an enemy Libby and a biology teacher Mr. Pool. In season 2, Jenny and Mr. Pool were gone and they were replaced by Valerie and Mr. Kraft. In season 4, Valerie moved to Alaska and was replaced by Dreama. Libby went to boarding school and Brad became the new enemy for Sabrina.
In season 5 Sabrina headed to college, so Harvey, Dreama, Brad and Mr. Kraft were gone. They were replaced by college roommates Roxie, Miles and Morgan.
In season 7, Sabrina's aunts Hilda and Zelda were no longer in the show and neither was Miles.

I think M*A*S*H had the most as far as regular cast members.
Over 11 seasons 4 cast members left and 3 joined the show.

Three's Company also had 3 cast members leave and 2 to join. They also had 2 characters (Cindy and Lana) who came and left.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show had 2 cast members leave and 2 join.

Roseanne.... Well they changed Beckys 3 times if you go by season. But in season 8 Sarah Chalke took over for Lecy Goranson in 2 episodes. So I'll break it down for you: 1) Season 6, Chalke takes over the role of Becky from Goranson, 2) Season 8, Goranson rejoins the cast, 3)"We're Going to Disney WOrld" (Season 8 ep.) Chalke plays Becky, 4) Goranson goes back to playing Becky until... 5) Chalke is seen briefly in "The Wedding", 6) Next episode Goranson plays Becky, 7) Chalke plays Becky for entire ninth season,
Whew! Pretty confusing, huh?

Yep. Luca. He's one of the 1st characters I got to know (because one of the story-lines was around him at the time)
I have no idea who Carter and Abby are. But the actress who plays Abby played Jim Carrey's wife in 'Liar, Liar.' (somebody correct me if I'm wrong)
I'm going to have to borrow my aunts E.R. DVD sets and sit down and watch them. It's a good show.

Charles in Charge
S1 cast had: Charles (Scott Baio), Buddy Lembeck (Willie Aames), the Pembrokes: Stan (James Widdoes), Jill (Julie Cobb), Jason (Michael Perlman), and Douglas (Jonathan Ward) and also had Gwendolyn Pierce (Jennifer Runyon)

S2 and beyond - The Pembrokes were all gone starting w/ S2 and in came the Powells: Walter (James T. Callahan), Sarah (Josie Davis), Jamie (Nicole Eggert), Adam (Alexander Polinsky) and Ellen (Sandra Kerns); also came along were: Charles's mom Lillian (Ellen Travolta).

Later on in the series: Lillian's nephew Anthony (Justin Whalin) and even later Stephanie (Erika Eleniak) all joined.

Overall, only Charles (Scott Baio) and Buddy (Willie Aames) were the only cast members that stayed for the bulk of the whole series.

Benson
Had a total of about 6 people that came and/or went throughout its 7-season run on ABC.

Taylor (Lewis J. Stadlen) was around until the end of S1.
Clayton Endicott (Rene Auberjonois) replaced Taylor starting w/ S2
Marcy (Caroline McWilliams) stayed from S1 until either S2 or S3
Pete (Ethan Phillips) came along in S2 and lasted until the early part of the mid-80s
Denise (Didi Conn) came around in S3, I think and stayed until '83 or so.
Rose (Billie Bird) came in 1984 and stayed til' the series' end in 1986.

227
In S2, Tiffany (Kia Goodwin) mysteriously dissapeared w/ no reason, Calvin (Curtis Baldwin) and Pearl (Helen Martin) became regular cast members

In S4, only Alexandria (Countess Vaughn) was the big addition.

S5 saw many cast additions once Sandra (Jackee Harry) left. Those who joined were: Eva (Toukie A. Smith), Julian (Paul Winfield), Dylan (Barry Sobel), and Travis (Stoney Jackson)

"Dallas" and "Knots Landing" each had many cast switches a lot during its 13 years.

"L.A. Law" also had many cast changes and/or switches as well.

"Airwolf" - when it moved from CBS to USA, the entire cast completely changed and not in a very good way (IMO).

And any Soap Opera is guaranteed lots of cast changes.

Also:

"Happy Days," especially once Richie (Ron Howard) left the show. But even before Richie left, there were still some cast changes along the way regardless.
