As always, it's Bridge #13 of the 4th Welland Canal, known locally as the Main street Bridge: When the Welland was enlarged and widened for a third time from 1913 to 1930, the smaller 3rd Canal Alexandra bridge (below) was replaced by the larger lift bridge you see to the left, it could open to a height 15 feet over the masts of ships, the towers are 200ft at the top. In 1972, the MSB opened for the last time in a snowy ceremony (Which i attended as a sad 11 year old) as the canal would bypass downtown Welland starting in the spring of 1973.....the bridge is now static, but still majestic.

There's something about that melody and those lyrics that just gets to me. Makes me think of my wonderful childhood with my parents and sisters. Then there's the tragic life of Judy Garland, so it's a real grab-bag of emotions going on with that song.

Since I'm an Adv. of Ozzie & Harriet fan, I wanted my av to be related to the family &/or show. I finally decided on David because he struck me as the most balanced member and I always liked him--on & off the screen. But then again, I am fond of everyone in the family for one reason or another.

I also wanted to try to get others to visit & post on the O & H bd, but unf. that hasn't seemed to work. The Empire State Bldg is in the av cause I'm from NYC.

Quite a few great DVD sets on the show came out last yr. & that renewed my interest in SO. Thx to Janice I discovered there are many other forums as well, so now I'm mostly on Chit Chat and when I get a chance plan to watch lots & lots of Bewitched and I Love Lucy--my other 2 fav shows.

I remember poor Steve McQueen did that, went to, I believe, Switzerland, in a last-ditch attempt to save his life. The poor man was only 50, and wanted to to live.

Farrah was an absolute doll on Charlie's Angels. I had a huge crush on her. I hope and pray to God that she recovers. I think it's great that Kate Jackson and Jackln Smith have reached out to her. But like you I'm afraid it might not be enough. Cancer is such a deadly disease. I hope someday their is a cure for it. :(

Album cover, as you can see, from British Invasion group The Troggs. They still perform. Wild Thing and Love is All Around are among their well known songs. They are noted for their 'garage band' style, and pre-'punk rock' style. I consider them more 'pop' for their time. Besides the two songs I mentioned, they have several other great sounds. The rest of their work is a little too 'rock' for me--but yeah, they're definitely one of my favorite all-time groups and have a few songs that are well known by most people. Their song, Love is All Around was also performed by the group Wet, Wet, Wet and was number one in the UK for seven weeks back in the 1990s.
