Anyone who remembers the classic stunt show Truth or Consequences knows that the questions were usually written as jokes in order to get the contestants to pay the consequences. Beulah the Buzzer usually went off about a fraction of a second after the question was asked. This wasn't so in the early radio version since Ralph Edwards originally created the show as a serious quiz, until it was discovered that contestants wanted to pay the consequences. Anyone think that the show was fixed?

Not really no, as the Qs werent really the focus of the show, the real "game" was in having the contestants do really crazy things for the money.....More or less the same premise thats still used in those crazy Japanese game shows where people eat spiders or walk on glass to win prizes. (Only, the TOC stunts werent as nasty).
