View Full Version : Nas's Next Album Is Gonna Be Called Nig*er
isiahthomas 01-08-2008, 06:31 PM Nas is ******** to name his next album Nig*er. What the hell is wrong with him? I thought he was smarter than that but i guess not. A lot of rappers are defending him because he's been criticized by Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and some other black politicans for naming his album that. I agree with what Jesse and Al had to say about Nas. Nig*er word is degrading and it's a terrible word that blacks have tried to get rid of because the word was used by white slave masters as ya'll know to put blacks down and make blacks think they were dumb and they were nobody compared to whites. I don't like the way rappers now use the word often in their songs and in interviews.
catlover79 01-08-2008, 06:34 PM Nice.
Dean Winchester 01-08-2008, 06:36 PM I find it strange because white people are a huge percentage of the rap-buying community, but how the hell does Nas expect a white person to go to the record store clerk and go "do you have N****r by Nas?" without looking like Michael Richards
catlover79 01-08-2008, 06:38 PM ^ You can bet Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton will be on their way to your house with a camera crew!!
isiahthomas 01-08-2008, 06:38 PM Exactly. Nas has lost respect from me.
SBTB Geek 01-09-2008, 03:55 PM The album better be one of the best rap records ever released.
isiahthomas 01-09-2008, 05:43 PM I bet the album is gonna suck because he hasn't made a good album since It Was Written in my opinion. He called his last album Hip Hop Is Dead and it sucked. How can he name his album that when his album wasn't anything special? LOL. Now he's kissing Jay-Z's ass since they settled their beef.
comedyfreak 01-10-2008, 09:14 AM And Imus was fired for saying nappy headed hoes, how is Nas getting away with this?:rolleyes:A degrading word is a degrading word no matter who says it, where's the justice?
waichingliu81 01-10-2008, 12:52 PM And Imus was fired for saying nappy headed hoes, how is Nas getting away with this?:rolleyes:A degrading word is a degrading word no matter who says it, where's the justice?
that's double standards for you. it's unfair. i hate it when one minority group censors anyone using a particular word because they don't like it when others use it- and yet when they use it themselves, they act as if it is ok. it is not :(

I agree 100%. If a black guy says it, then it's "OK". I say it's stupid and unfair.
isiahthomas 01-11-2008, 09:42 PM Black men call each other nig*a everyday and that's ok to them but when white people use the word, it's a problem and they wanna kill or fight the white people who say it. I don't know what the big deal was about what Don Imus said and i don't think he should've apologized for what he said and he shouldn't have lost his job.
Ireneparalegal 01-11-2008, 09:51 PM That's weird that Al Sharpton complained abt that word since he was seen clapping along to Patty Smith's song that has the word "N****" in it, when she was performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. There he was smiling, clapping and enjoying her performance. Why wasn't he making an outcry there? Selective racism?
catlover79 01-12-2008, 02:13 AM ^ Selective racism? Irene, I think you may have coined a new term!!
Dean Winchester 01-12-2008, 02:26 AM Black men call each other nig*a everyday and that's ok to them but when white people use the word, it's a problem and they wanna kill or fight the white people who say it. I think with the Imus situation, it was a case of the wrong person hearing it. My dad listened to Imus for years, Imus has said far more offensive things, I guess the people weren't listening when he said that Barack Obama is not a Jew-friendly name, or that Sanjaya from American Idol deserved to be the victim of a hate crime.
It's like with South Park. Those of us who watch the show know how offensive it is (actually, most of the time it offends but has a message, I know, it's ****ed up, but if you watch it, you'd understand) but the media caught wind of a 20 second Steve Irwin sequence in the "Hell On Earth" episode (which wasn't even the most offensive thing about said episode, I think family members of the victims of Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy would've been more offended by the ongoing Three Stooges in Hell gag the three of them had going on in that episode) and suddenly everyone was outraged and upset. Granted, that gag was in bad taste but it was hardly among the ten most offensive tasteless things the show has ever done, but the media latched on to that scene. It's exactly the same as what happened to Imus.
freshprinceofLA 01-12-2008, 04:31 AM Exactly. Nas has lost respect from me.
To me Nas was one of the few real rappers left but now after hearing this yea I gotta agree with you. Nas had some sick albums before (Illmatic, Stillmatic) but now they just ain't that good
coffield3 01-12-2008, 05:12 AM Nice.
 :D
What an idiot he is.
isiahthomas 01-12-2008, 01:44 PM I've heard black men call black women worst names than Don Imus calling black women on the college basketball team nappy headed hoes. Blacks get on my nerves with their ignorance. Like i said, black men use the word nig*a everyday and they know it's a degrading word but they don't give a damn. But when white people say nig*a, the NAACP, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton wanna march and protest about it LOL. FreshprinceofLA, Nas's last good album to me was It Was Written. Illmatic is his best album to me. So many of his fans are on his d*ck and they say Iam, Stillmatic, God's Son, Street's Disciple, Hip Hop Is Dead albums by him are good but i don't think so. I stopped liking him after Nastradamus album which is his worst album. Even The Firm group album he did with AZ, Foxy Brown, Nature sucked. Dr Dre did most of the beats on The Firm album and i'm surprised i didn't like the album because Dr Dre usually makes good beats. Cormega who's from Queens, New York used to be a part of The Firm but him and Nas had a disagreement about something and they stopped speaking to each other. They settled their differences at a concert in New York a few years ago so i was glad to hear about that.
friendsfan77 01-12-2008, 04:13 PM I still honestly wish I could just take that word and erase it from everyone's brain.

 I don't know if I should laugh though? Sad state of affairs when only certain times the *N* word is appropriate and other times it is not. :ohno:

I couldn't agree more.
