Has anyone seen it in person, and what did you think. Found out it is about 85 miles from my home in a museum. If anyone has seen it, would it be worth my while to make the trip to see it?

The truck is in Branson Missouri, about 40 miles from where I grew up. I saw it a couple of times soon after Paul Henning donated it to the museum in the mid-1970s. Honestly, it is hard to say if it is REALLY the truck used in the series. First of all, there are always several show vehicles roaming around. They use one vehicle in the studio, another vehicle on location, etc. It looks real, but one never knows.

Keep in mind that George Barris made the original Truck.
And he has made many TV \ Movie vehicles he also makes replica's to tour the country and to be in his star cars museum there is one such museum in Gatlingburg Tenn. Where he has assembled replica's of most of the vehicles he made for TV and movies I was there and there was a replica BH Truck.
And while it looked like the original there were several details that just did not match!
The main one was the bench that Granny and Elly always road on.
It is completly differant he did the same with the bench on the movie version of BH. Not to mention the movie version had a windsheild the TV truck either did not have one or they kept it folded down I can't remember.

Anyway I'm sure the real truck is out there somewhere, Would be nice to see pictures of it on this forum.

Here are some interesting photos i found, two of them appear to be from the museum in the ozarks, the other obviously a wax museum of the actors, not the original truck like the other two photos though.

I agree, i found a reference in the beverly hillbillies 40th anniversary book that Irene Ryan (Granny) actually attended the dedication of the wax museum exhibit. I wonder what she really thought when she saw that?? haha
