It was about a young male college student who was being constantly harrassed by other guys at the college. He knew something that he shouldn't have and was recieving threatening notes in his locker. He called home upset to his mother and said that these persons stole his paycheck or some other kind of money from him. He turned up missing and someone mailed his drivers license to his mother with a threatening note. My memory is fuzzy on this, but I think it was a UM case that happened in the late 80's or early 90's.

The murder victim was Tommy Burkett. He was murdered in 1991, but efforts to solve the case have been hindered by a cover-up. There was a web site about the case (Parents Against Corruption and Cover-up), but the site hasn't been active for a while. Tommy's mother, Beth George, died of cancer a few years ago without ever finding the truth about her son's death. :(

The UM segment was broadcast during the 1994-95 season.

I came across a link that lists the comparisons between the deaths of Tommy Burkett and Vince Foster (whose death was covered on UM during the 1995-96 season).
