I saw some of the Hillbillies Marathon on TV Land over New Year's Day and as I suspected, TV Land has shaved about 4 to 5 minutes off each episode. This effects the pacing of the show and in some cases, the best lines and jokes are cut completely out of the episode.

Too bad TV Land doesn't butcher a show like Extreme Makeover and leave classic TV - REAL TV - alone.

TV Land's already butchered its credibility, so it comes as no surprise it would butcher episodes. :mad:

They have to cut something. I didn't really note it detracting from the "flow" or the story that much, I wouldn't have noticed it at all if I hadn't got certain episodes memorized (the public domain ones I have on DVD). The color episodes I hadn't seen since the last time TV Land showed them, I couldn't tell where the cutting was.
